How do I find the manufacture date on my Maxtor D540X-4K?

Here's everything I could see on the drive itself.

This disk is actually installed in a Echostar Dish Network Satellite Receiver DVR

(Echostar model# DE02, DishNET model# DISHPVR508).

The DVR is a 2nd replacement (3rd box) but still pulls the same problems. I suspect the drive is near the end of its life but can't find a date code to verify this. I was able to find date codes on the 1st 2, both manufactured in 2003, June & December, respectively.

This drive is an OEM drive that apparently came with your computer. IBM? It is the reason that it does not have a date on it. To get it replaced in warranty, you have to contact the MFG. of your PC. Maxtor will not hornor the warranty fron the end user.

In general, hard drives are guaranteed by the manufacturer for one year. 3 years on premium drives. I don't consider older Maxtor drives premium! (probably personal bias).
I would think any 80GB IDE drive would work

U can do one thing , convert your HDD using ide to usb or sata to usb converter and connect ur HDD via usb and check what happens....

This is a common problem, your drive is in what is known as safe mode or kernel mode, what has happened is some modules of the firmware have failed to load and so it is now only detecting the logic board. I'm afraid there won't be much you can do without the special software to read the firmware aspect of the drive, you need to load what is known as a loader which contains the code to boot the heard drive up so we can write to the firmware (the firmware is stored on the platters) so really your only option is to send it off to a data recovery company who have all the gear like Digital Recovery

for 'MAXTOR' and '80GB' disk-drives.

60gb hard drive is knackered

you are not likely get parts for a hard drive. You simply replace them. If you have data to remove then there is a plethora of software to down load.[ PCIspector/BadCopy Pro to name but 2] You could also put it into the freezer overnight and try running it before it warms up.

I delete all the partitions from my hard disk. i didn't make partition.when i restart the system,msg came that nofixed drive present.bios don't dectect my hard disc.my hard disc is maxtor d540x-4k. how can...

Assuming this was your only hard disk, there is nothing on the disk for the BIOS to boot from. You need to boot from the installation disk for your operating system. The OS installer will then let you create a partition and install to it.
