Wireless security

I think you should upgrade the firmware on your router.
After upgrading the firmware reset the router and reconfigure it manually.
I will also suggest you to create a new wireless network and use security modem WPA.
Try to connect to the new wireless network and see if that works.

I entered the right code to connect to the inernet but it unable to do it

I see that you are still unable to get internet even if your laptop connects to the router, it is possible that the network key in the router is different from what you are using.
Try checking your Router settings:
* Connect your Laptop using an Ethernet Cable directly to your Router, make sure that the Router and Modem are still connected to be able to get internet access. * to get in your Router you must first then find out what your Default gateway is for your Router. * click start, click all programs then click accessories mvincentc_5.png

* you should see this window right click on Command Prompt to get the window popup on the right * then click on run as administrator to, you should see this window below

* then type in ipconfig then press enter to get the info about your network

* Default Gateway id your Routers IP address write down these numbers and type it in the address bar of internet explorer then press enter to get in your routers settings

* after pressing enter this will prompt you for a user name and password for you to get in your router and this will vary on what type of router you my have, if you already know how to get into your Router settings check your network key if it is the same on what you have for your wireless security key in your setting in windows.
* if still it does not connect try disabling your network key and check if the internet will work with out any network keys if it does connect try changing your network key.
I hope this will help, Thanks.

Ihave bought a new Dell laptop and want to connect it wirelessly to my netgear router but have lost the security code to do it.

While directly connected to your router by an Ethernet cable type into your browser window(Internet Explorer/Firefox). You will then be directed to a sign in page for the router. If this information has not been changed it should be the following: username: admin and password: password(both will be in lowercase letters). If you are unable to get signed in with this information and do not know the username and password then you will need to press the reset button on the back of the router for 5-10 seconds. Then this username and password will work. After getting signed into the router you will then click wireless setting on the left side. This page will should you the all of your network information including the name, security information and the password which will be listed as either passphrase or key. The passphrase or key will be the password you will enter once you select your network name to connect to. This following link has the full manual for your Netgear router in case you do not have it. 3 failed attempts to connect HP DV6t laptop

First as a test, turn off the wireless security, and see if the laptop can connect.

If it can connect with security turned off, then it is likely that you are making some type of mistake with the password. (Such as caps lock being on, or having a keyboard error.)

Good Luck!

Have a d-link router with password. Ipod touch(8G) won't connect

Try remove the password on D-Link router, put it on open conditions (no security enabled). It should work.
If still won't connect, try using laptop or any wireless device to connect to router(without password), if connect, then there's something wrong with your Ipod.

Unable to connect new laptop with existing wireless internet

try to connect with your phone no.. with area code firs and without any space and dashes..continuous 10 digit no..if not..
go to other pc, which is working..
open a new internet explorer page and in the address bar enter Http://
it will prompt for a user name and a passwd..
do not type any thing for the username leave it blank, for passwd enter admin..
you would be in the linksys setup page , click wireless tab,
you would see all your w/ls information..
below the wireless tab in the blue bar you would see a wireless security sub tab in the blue bar.. you would find the key in key 1
