SOURCE: How can i use a pioneer PL-Z93 turntable with a pioneer A-717 amp?

Hi, there is no reason for the turntable not to work with your amp. This amp has 2 phono inputs. Moving magnet and moving coil. Your tt likely has a moving magnet cartridge fitted so connect via that input. Cheers John. styluscity.com

How can I connect an analog turntable to my Pioneer VSX-D710S? Also, do I need a turntable with a built in pre-amp?

According to the specs there aren't any phono inputs which would have their own preamp. Everything else is line level so I'm pretty sure you'll need a preamp either between the turntable and one of the line level inputs or built into the turntable.

I have a xv-htd601 reciever want to hook up apl 518 turntable can i

If the amp has a socket with a magnetic cartridge amp built in - often marked "phono" then yes. If it hasn't then you would need to buy a Magnetic Cartridge Pre-Amp. That will the plug into any available Aux or Tape socket.

Ihve just purchased Kenwod P-110 turntable for my husband - do I need to purchase speakers also or can this be conected to TV Audio ???

Generally most turntables require a "magnetic cartridge pre-amp" before it becomes as loud as say a CD player. TV's generally again don't have pre-amps of this type built in. So unless the turntable has a pre-amp built in then any sound would be too low. Some amps don't have one built in so you need to check that too before purchasing any amp. You can buy the pre-amp seperatly too!

My Pioneer PL-990 Turntable only outputs sound through the white wire. Only a quiet buzz comes through the red wire.

The red wire is the right channel, so going back to your amp, get a single phono plug with with the wire exposed, so you can touch the wire. Then remove the turntable connections. With the amp on plug the the lose wire plug into each channel and check if the sound on the right is still low. If it is then there's a problem with the magnetic cartridge pre-amp inside the amp. They are often located near the phono socket on a seperate PC board, but if not just follow the red wire to the main board. Chances are it will be an IC that's failed.
If it has a strong buzz at the back of the amp. Then I should replace the wire between the turntable and the amp. Or the right phono plug that connects to the amp.

Tremendous Rumble when using my new turntable

its more like your turntable needs to be isolated from surrounding interference? try putting foam or dense rubber under the feet and make sure its not anywhere near a speaker as this wil cause immense rumble problems? it may be your carridge on this new deck is way more sensitive than your previos set up and therefore needs isolation for the best results?
