SOURCE: for save old bios and install new bios Dell

If you are looking to update your BIOS then you can obtain the latest version from Dell. There should also be a step by step guide on how to correctly perform the upgrade. However, unless there is a real need to upgrade your BIOS then you should not have to do this. I have worked on and custom built several PC's and have never had to update the BIOS.

Firstly, Dell do not make Macbooks and secondly, you've entered your BIOS version. Not really sure if you're asking a question or bragging about your PC.

I wanted to extend the RAM of a Laptop Toshiba Satellite S1400-503 (approx. 10 years old) from 256 MB to 2*512 MB (PC133) but the system doesn't start. Only various beeps with dark screen occur. I read...

@Brend
You have the last bios they made for that machine. If the original memory will still boot the machine, one or both of the memory modules you are using are not compatible, defective or not seated correctly. If not you have some other problem. Not all PC 133 chips are created equal. Check the manual if you need to http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=EU#tab3; . You can try replacing the original chjp in slot A and one of the new chips in slot B sometimes that works but you may have stability issues if the new chip is not 100% compatible.

Can't update my bios on hp pavillion a1010n??

Have you downloaded the right BIOS for your computer and do you really need to update this?

According to the HP support web site above the only version is 3.09 dated 21 June 2006 - if you already have this version, this may be why you cannot update it.

If your problem is that your computer is very slow, then updating the BIOS will not make any difference - you should concentrate on cleaning up and optimising the Windows file system.

Download and install the following utility programs that can help you to improve the performance of your computer.

Advanced System Care Free - run the Deep Care option of this utility.
DiskMax - run a Detailed Scan and let it clean up all profiles, updates, cache etc.
Smart Defrag - run a Defrag and Fast Optimize
CCleaner - use this to compliment the above plus use the Tools Uninstall option to remove any unwanted software programs, browser tool bars etc. Also use the Tools Startup option to disable any of the programs being started on every boot that don't need to be, i.e. things like QuickTime, Adobe Reader etc.

Download the latest BIOS update from the Dell support website. After downloading the update then install it.

After the update just restart the computer.

Secondary drive 0 not found

Hi there.
Sounds like the boot order has been changed in the bios.
The secondary drive sounds like the CD drive as most laptops only come with 1 HDD installed.
Change the boot order to the primary drive by Pressing F1 during startup when the ThinkPad logo is displayed..
Once in the bios change the boot order, save and exit, the computer will restart and boot from the hard drive, when you get into windows check to make sure that the CD rom recognizes CD/DVD's.
Please post back if you need any more help.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

BIOS 1004 cpu not support

I got it :-)

Damn Asus , it was a hard session ;-)

1. Make an ISO from your original Asus CD denn insert (with isobuster or something) the Bios Firmware 1004 in the main Dir name the file M2N-MX.ROM

2.Burn a Second disc with the 0804 Bios ROM also rename the 0804 Rom to M2N-MX.ROM

3. Go to EZ FLASH with ALT + F2 and then insert the 1004 CD wait till Erasing is ready Then Turn OFF your PC :-) so you crashed the bios thats what you need to run the embeded CrashFRee Tool

4 After you turn your PC on insert the 0804 CD then it flashes the this Rom and we are Happy :-)
