Aspire 5920-6864 notebook

Everytime I turn on my computer or if I click on the acer e net management button it says padding is invalid and cannot be removed. I click ok and then another screen pops up and says the file could not be decrypted. make sure you entered the correct password. This error can also be caused by changing crypto type between encryption and decryption. Since this began my internet connections keep getting kicked off and coming back on I have to reset my modem like once every 2-3 days. I also have an audimated help me wizard that is on my computer screen everytime I start up and i cannot get it to go away for good so it is not there when i start my comp ev every time.

Hi there.
Coincidentally i had the same problem last week, I'm a PC technician and i came to the conclusion that my PC had been hacked and a trojan was placed somewhere on my PC. Hackers are very clever and you can download malware just by clicking on a infected website, you won't even know you have been infected.
What i did to resolve this was reset my wireless router and set up a new WPA2 password, i went back to my PC and performed a system restore and took my PC back to at least a week before the problems started, i let it do that, then i ran all my antivirus and anti spy programs, cleaned the registry, set a new OS password and restarted the PC then i reconnected to the internet updated my antivirus and its been fine since.
Try this method, if you have no restore points post back

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

System recovery boot

The Acer Aspire line of netbooks have two methods to restore the computer to a working state: System Restore, an application included with Windows, or Acer eRecovery Management, a proprietary application that is packaged with Acer PCs.

If errors appear when running Windows, or if the computer begins to behave strangely, first run System Restore to determine whether reverting the PC to a previous state fixes the problem.
If the problem remains unresolved, or worsens, you can use Acer eRecovery Management to format the hard drive and reload the Acer Aspire netbook to its factory state.

Navigate to the "Start" menu. Select the "Control Panel."
Type "restore" into the Search box.
Press "Enter" then select "Restore Your Computer to an Earlier Time" from below the "Action Center."
Click "Open System Restore."
Click "Next" on the "Restore System Files and Settings" screen.

Select a restore point that was created when the computer was functioning properly. Click "Next," then click "Finish."
Click "Yes" to confirm.
Windows will perform a system recovery on the Acer Aspire One.

Acer eRecovery Management

Turn on the Acer netbook. Hold down the "Alt" and "F10" buttons simultaneously on the boot screen to load Acer eRecovery Management from the recovery partition.

Select "Restore Operating System to Factory Defaults" from the options.

Click "Next" to recover the system to its original state.

Touch pad stopped working

I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall touchpad drivers to isolate the issue.
Press Windows key and R. Type devmgmt.msc in Run window and click on OK. Click on "+" sign beside Mice and other pointing devices in Device Manager.
Right click on Touchpad and select Uninstall.
You will be prompted to restart the computer.
Windows detects touchpad and the touchpad drivers will be reinstalled automatically.
You can also install touchpad drivers from your notebook support website.
You can reinstall the drivers from the below links:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html
http://www.laptops-drivers.com/acer-notebooks/download-drivers-acer-aspire-5920-notebooks.html
However I suggest you to install the drivers by visiting the acer support website.
Also perform windows update.

Acer 5315 dont open. black screen appears

Sounds like a registry problem. Are you running XP or Vista? When you go to task manager, click on File /Run. Type the word "explorer" without the quotes...Does the start bar come up?

Installing anti virus onto aspire one net book

Hi, the Acer Aspire is a Linux operating system based computer. It does not run Microsoft windows in the same way that Apple computers run OSX, not windows. The antivirus programs you mention are for windows computers. On the bright side, running Linux you really DON'T need virus protection Linux is inherently far more secure than windows.

Acer Aspire 5050 Won't Boot.

Your problem could be windows vista isnot installed properly
i assume in the beginning, your laptop come with windows xp.
if you want to go back to windows xp, you can still use alt+f10, as long as you don't delete the recover partition.
Just boot and press Alt+F10, it'll give you recover screen.
