Float valve in carb is leaking fuel into engine. It ususally gets in the oil, too, when this happens. clean float valve and change the oil. Or put a shutoff valve in the fuel line and close it everytiime you park it (not a good solution but it works.)

1995 2500 chevy truck is hard to start once it starts acts like it wont kick off surges and blows white smoke what could be problem?

check for a coolant leak as white smoke indicates burning coolant. it could be a head gasket or cylinder head problem. this can also cause a hard start as coolant won`t burn like gas. to do this you will have to get a head gasket test done.

Blowing white smoke, stalls after starting, lack of power, bad gas mileage, idols high

Blowing white smoke indicate that your burning prestone in your cylinder. Probably a hed gasket tht is craked and leaks into your cylinder , if not than it's a craked head or block again leaking into a cylinder. have you car checked for a leakdown test of your cylinders.

I bet you'll find where your prestone is leaking.

Smoke coming out of engine

White smoke? Coolant is getting in the cylinder and the white smoke is really steam. Sounds like you have a blown head gasket. Bad news is that it needs to be replaced...good news is that the inline 6 cylinder engine is one of the easier head gaskets to replace. I've never replaced a head gasket but did it on my Cherokee just three months ago. If you tag your parts and pay attention how they are taken off you can do it. The other option is to replace the engine as they are pretty cheap to get. Good luck.

You must have a leaking engine cylinder head gasket. Have a local shop confirm this for you as it is a very expensive repair.

After starting car it sputters and white smoke from exhast. I drive the car for 5 min, sputtering the whole time, and turn it off - will not start until it is cranked and gas pressed for couple min. Then...

White smoke is usually from water and water will make the car splutter. Did you get water in your tank at some time. If you have water in your fuel, you will have to drain the tank and refill with good fuel. The engine will run fine once it is hot but if a lot of water goes into a hot cylinder it can cause a lot of damage.

Hard starting smokes white like gas is getting into cylinders

White smoke in a small engine is oil. Oil in the cylinder will create too much pressure for the engine to achieve compression. Make sure the engine is not getting fuel into the oil and thinning the mixture (literally smell the oil... gasoline and oil smell nothing alike, if it smells like gas, it is). If this is the case, the carb is leaking fuel into the engine, thinning the oil and causing the oil to leak past the rings into the cylinder head, through the valves and, from there, into the exhaust to burn off. Black smoke indicates a direct fuel issue in a small engine, white is oil based.
