I have a pair of linn komponent 104 speakers i was wondering if i can add a sub woofer to my amp to give the sound more bass as the speakers dont have a good bass sound

The Linn's should have a good bass, clean & tight but not boomy. Have you got them correctly phased? Red-to-red, Black-to-black? Bass is killed if one speaker is anti-phased.

I have a boss cx-3500 amplif & and a rockford p2 15 inch sub & not much punch what can i do to have more punch

mess around with the frequency on the amp till you get a good heavy loud sound and turn up the bass more and make sure the speaker cables are in the correct ports if one is in the other the wrong way around it wont give out as good quality or bass

Hi i just got 2 new infinity 860w reference 8'' subs 250 rms each and pushing it with sony 600watt amp pushing it but very low sound and no bass why the othier speakers i have in 10'' hit the bass fine but...

The amp may no thav eenough to push these subs, these are top of the line subs, they probably require a bigger amp, if you are running other speakers through this also, you certainly need another amp, or a bigger one with more channels. also double check all your wiring.

What size box do i need?

Normally a speaker box with a 15- 20 litres capacity should be suffficient but it depends on the size of your car. I would not like to waste the boot area for filling up the subwoofer. hence you can compromise and make a tubular type subwoofer or if your vehicle is a sedan, cut out in the parcel tray. If you are able to make bass reflex, the port must be tuned with a sleeve. or else make an infinite baffle. sometimes this is very good for the low bass performance. design the size structure according to the car size, use good joints/ glue well or else it may sqeak with every bass beats. Hope this helps you. Good day

I have a box ported with separate chambers with 2 12w3.the problem is it doesnt really have the bass i thought i would have with these subs.the amp is a jl500/1 maybe i need m ore power or maybe its the...

it sounds like ther is a problem somewhere. double check the wiring going to the subs. if one wire is out of phase it will make it sound like no bass... also try pionting subs toward the tailgate. this will make the subs sound better.it could also be the box. jl audio woofers like sealed boxes.

I want a great sound system in my van. what do you advice and how much will it cost?

go pioneer, best bang for your buck. you'll prolly wanna buy a headunit, 4 componant speakers, one 10in sub, one 4 channel 500watt amp, sub box, and wiring. pricing depends on how high end you go i recommend:

Headunit: Pioneer, price depends on model, a nice one=120-150, you'll prolly need a dash kit so it'll fit your van, wal-mart like 15$, and also a wiring harness to plug into your factory wires, again wal-mart like 7$

Speakers: depends on the van, buy speakers that are the same size as your factory so changing them'll be easy. Buy pioneer, that'll handle about 60-70 watts RMS. you'll prolly pay about 120 for a pair.

Sub:Pioneer ts-w257d4 60$

Amp: Alpine mrp-f550 210$

Sub Box: Scosche, available at wal-mart, 30$

Wiring Kit: Schosche, Also at wal-mart, 30-35$

Pricing on sub, amp, headunit, and speakers comes from sonicelectronix.com, another good website is onlinecarstereo.com So a grand total for materials is gonna be 775-850 after shipping on online bought stuff.(onlinecarstereo.com has free shipping on orders over 100$)
If you pay for installation then you're prolly lookin another 150-250 bucks. it ain't cheap but your system will sound KICK ***!!!

1995 Toyota Avalon Right Rear Speaker Problems

Hello gecpimp,

It certainly sounds like the speaker has failed. Most OEM speakers have paper cones and cloth surrounds and it is not uncommon for the adhesive to give out in the vehicle environment.

The Avalon uses the "workhorse" of car audio speakers. Both front and rear are 5-1/4" and you can get great aftermarket speakers in that size. Unfortunately, no 5-1/4 speaker is really good at reproducing bass. A really good set of Focal full-range speakers, the Polyglass 130 CVX runs $300 at www.crutchfield.com. Somewhat less expensive are the JL Audio C2-525X at $180. Speakers such as these will give you the best sound. Somewhat less expensive are Alpine and Infinity, but they're still good. It would probably be a good idea while you have the door panels off, to go ahead and replace the fronts at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Bass not Very deep

250 watts rms seems a little low for a 12 inch woofer, a 500 or higher will likely fix your problem. Specific model numbers and the type of enclosure you have will allow a more specific answer.

What frequency are you going to be runnig to your subs? what do you want? punchy bass, over the big tom drops?
what amp r you running or should i say amps?
you'll get the highest spl in a sealed enclosure, but i dont think thats what your looking for.you want heavy vibrating soud,am i correct? a band pass box will give that to you in a close space.bass sounds better and louder the further away you get../.give me more info then ill give you a layout.but 4 now this might help or solve your problem
