Sharp TV struck by lighting replaced all boards got standby light could the led lights be fried and keeping TV from powering up

There is a row of LED lights that are called the "Backlight" and if there is just one LED burned out, the cost of replacing the back light strip will either meet or exceed the cost of the TV. I have worked on several TVs and they ALL had the same issue.

You might luck out and find a repair shop in your town\city that knows about this issue and can go in and replace that LED strip( it carries 25+LEDs in a single row) or just replace the burned out LED(s) without costing you more than what you paid for the TV.

Hope this helps.

I have a Technics PR-305 Digital Piano back light, can that be repaired to make it light up brighter with out changing any resistance values, that would shorten the life of the LED?

No, LED are rated according to the amount of current they can carry.
they wil only burn out if one was to exceed their value.

Panasonic lcd tv tc32lx75a dead. standby led not on, standby voltage 1.8v,3.3v,6v on

now look for burned diodes or voltage rectifier or voltage regulator components. It could even be a resister. If you can't find anything the next idea is an EPROM or IC

Pioneer vsx-01 receiver, standby light burned out. Button works fine, just no blue light. Pioneer sells a replacement standby button......is this easy to install and will it solve the problem? Do you have...

the light is an ledt they very rarely go bad ..to confirm its bad you must first see that the led is getting power --a voltmeter one end to the frame of the unit and the other to either lead on the led will confirm if its bad or not a typical led will run on or near 3 volts dc... if theres no power at the led than the problem is elsewhere

I just replaced the convergence board on my JVC AV-56WP74, but the red still won't line up. Are there other parts that should be changed?

you also need to check and replace low value resistors in that circiut.they are all 1 watt, usually they get discolored when stressed.R842 2.2 ohm,R854 and R846 1.5 ohm,R850 2.2 ohm,R858 3.3 ohm,R862 1.8 ohm.they must be the exact value available in MD from surburban electronics.please note stk392-110 upgrade to stk392-150 for future referance.ONCE AGAIN CHECK ALL LOW VALUE RESISTORS

Technika TV LCD26-207 died in service

I know the cause of the fault is R983 - it appears to be a pullup resistor that kickstars the PSU. If you look you will find its slightly burnt. I dont know the value of this resistor. But if you connect a 60w mains lamp in place of the resistor the standby light will light then can start the set by pressing one of the buttons on the side of the set. If anybody knows the value please let us know. The part will only be pennies. Keith

Just a resistor?

R842 is off of pin 18 of IC804 which controls the red convrgence yoke. I would recomend changing both STK392-110 Ics as well as checking the other resistors R842 is a 2.2 ohm 1 watt metal film resistor. let me know if you need more assistance.

TV Sony KV-29F1E turn-on failure, red standby LED flashes (starts after 10-20 attempts)

When the set ends up flashing the LED, it should be a repeatable count. Can you please report that count here? Also, since the set eventually works, I'd suspect a bad connection or a part that has changed value over time. The blink code will help to narrow down the offending circuit.
