Question about Whirlpool Cabrio 7.0 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity Plus Gas Dryer

1 Answer

My whirlpool cabrio steam dryer has mold in the water lines. It spits out mold when using quick refresh. How can I fix this?

It dries clothes without odor but once I use the quick refresh cycle the clothes smells like mold. I've ran it a couple of times empty and it spits out mold with the steam. How can I clear the steam lines of this mold?

SOURCE: Dryer takes too long to dry my clothes

The first thing to check is the temperature. start the dryer, and check it about 10-15 minutes in, is it very hot or kinda cool? IF its very hot, Look at the lint trap channel to see if there is a build up of lint, then remove the vent hose from the back of the dryer and make sure it has no lint in it and that it is clear all the way through the outside of your house. Make sure the flapper for the dryer on the outside is clear.

If it feels coolish, you will need to replace the heating elements, or a control circuit. Neither are expensive.

IF you do it yourself it could cost maybe $50-100. Since your asking for help here, I urge you to pay for a professional to repair the dryer which may run $150-200. You will have to decide if repairing the dryer is worth the investment.

My Whirlpool Duet DRYER--the clothes are wetter than when I put them in & there is now water sitting in the bottom. It does have a steam setting, but I'm not using that one. It's 4 years old.

Check your exhaust vent! If you have an obstruction, the steamy air will have no where to go, then your air-conditioning temps inside can cause the water to condense in the vent tube... Even if the vent is just open to the hot summer air and the clothes sit in the machine the difference in temps between inside and outside can cause these symptoms...

Why is my Whirlpool cabrio platinum dryer leaking water, and taking over an hour to dry clothes?

Is this an older dryer? Long drying times are often caused by lack of good heating or poor air movement through the drum. Air movement depends on a properly turning fan and a clear exit of hot moist air to the outside vent. Check and see if you get a strong blast of air from your outside vent. If you don't, you may have a fan problem, plugged vent, or kinked vent tube. The water leaking could be because you don't have any drying going on due to the aforementioned problems.

It is possible you have a broken drum belt. You may need to call a qualified service man as changing a belt can be tricky.

My Whirlpool Cabrio dryer has water leaking in it. How do I fix this or what's causing it?

This model has steam support, so it should have a cold water connection to it. Check for leaks where the hose connects to the rear of the dryer. If you do not use the steam feature, you can shut off the water and that will probably end your problem.
