Question about Nintendo Pokemon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition

1 Answer

Won't Save I have a Gameboy Color with the game gold version. Everytime I try to save it says "Nick saved the game!" but when I turn it back on later there are no saved gamesand I have to start over. What can I do? I read on a few sights that the internal battery could be dead and that you can change the internal battery, which is where you save the game. Does anyone know how to do this? everytime i save it says you saved if i turn it on again right away it'll still be there but if i wait like 5 minutes its gone any help?

Yep, the internal battery is dead. You'll have to take the cartridge apart and find the battery type, and buy another one that's the exact same type and put the battery in. If you have any questions you can go to a battery speciality store and they can do it for you in store for probably pretty cheap.
Please rate, thanks!

SOURCE: Won't Save

I've fixed that by pressing the corners of the game and never taking it out of the game boy. Plus you might try putting the game in most of the way not all the way.

Hi, I have pokemon gold on my gameboy and when I last saved and now I want to start again and I can not say more than that the save file is corrupted. How can I fix this problem? Thanks in advance

Sorry, there isn't a way to bring back a corrupted Gameboy game save. The reason the save has corrupted is because the small battery in the game had died. Replacing the battery might fix your game, but it won't bring back your save.

My Game Boy Color game: Pokemon Gold has recently stopped working. By this I mean it does not save anymore and always resets itself whenever the game is turned off, despite "saving." I'm not...

There is no easy fix. Well, there is, but you have to open the game cartridge
all gameboy game cartridges have a battery inside. this battery powers the save module. Pokemon gold is such an old game that the battery has likely died; open the game, replace the battery, and it should work. images?q=tbn:ln15bafqcr5fzm: Leave me good feedback please.

My game will save, but when I turn it back on, there is only the "new game" and "options" displayed...I can't continue from where I saved.

Replacing the battery might fix your game, but it won't bring back your save. Well you could use a memory stick for the game boy color and advance and orginal gameboy then instead.

Gold won't save

The Silver/Gold/Crystal generation Pokemon Games all had cartridges that contained a built-in battery that runs theinternal clock, so that your game knows whether its day or night,Monday or Wednesday, etc. Anyway, I assume your battery has run out,and until replaced, the game will not save successfully.

This site give instructions on how to replace the battery: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-pokemon-goldsilve/

Or you could just buy the game again, I would guess they are about $10 these days.
Great game by the way.

Hope that helps.
