Question about Motorola Mobility W490 Cellular Phone
TMobile said we needed a new battery and that they didn't carry in stock. We ordered a new battery online, waited a week, charged it up when it came (phone said "charging"). We turned it on again and same thing happened. Came on for a few seconds to the initial screen, then went black again.
Called TMobile again...they said the phone probably needed replacement. Here we have a brand new battery that we paid to have shipped from West Coast and now we will have to pay to return it.
How do we know if it really a broken phone or battery issue? The cell phone companies just want you to keep buying new phones.
Would appreciate any advice before we return battery and purchase a new phone. Thank you.
There is usualy no certain way to tell whats to blame on a bad phone without testing, but in your case I think that it is your phone that is malfunctioning. A low/bad battery either doesn't turn on or if it does it will at leat allow the phone to go on and then displays low battery before shutting off.
If you are out of warranty period, then you can easily flash this phone fo much cheaper than purchasing a new one. I would ecoment that you first take it o a repair place to be examined.
