These machines need to be seen by a technician who can disassemble the motors and replace the carbon brushes. You should have them serviced at the same time since it doesn't take that much longer to do everything.

Speak to your nearest Pfaff dealer about availability.
I have tried with many older machines and the prices can be very steep, some are not available at all, so it may be a judgement call on whether this is cost effective, depending on the nature of the problem.
