I believe I had the same problem with my water heater about 15 years ago. It started with a small leak, then the tank broke flooding the room. I think it would be be best to replace the unit. Water heaters tipically have a 8-10 year life.

Ward Floor Heater, Model 570 EDR, works but is outputting much less heat than normal. Any information about where to look, parts I might need, etc would be greatly appreciated.

"The valve stem labeled Hot at 12 oclock and Off at 3 oclock,"
Is probably the problem. I'd try wd-40 overnight to see if it would free up the valve. It worked on a similar problem outside gas grill valve.

My pilot light on my five burner kozy world heater comes on and burns full and blue but itermittently sputters and shuts down when burners kick on.

From what you have described there appears to be dust, dirt or pet hair in the pilot or the pilot tubing, as well as the Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS). OR your heater may be the wrong gas type. In other words, you have Propane Gas and the heater is a Natural Gas heater (or vise versa). Look for the manufacturers tag on the side or back of the heater. It will tell you the model number, serial number and gas type. Even with this, on rare occasions, the manufacturer's plate may be incorrect. The only way to be sure is to remove the front cover of the heater and look at the control valve. It should be marked LPG or NG.

We are having difficulty lighting the pilot light on our wards gas wall heater. Is there a diagram that shows where we are suppose to put the lit match and which way to turn the knob? Thanks for your help

you may have to push down on gas knob to start gas flow for pilot move flame so it licks thermo couple detector.

if thermocouple gets too old it will not generated enough power to keep relay open for pilot

We have an old furnace. Model # em50743b Serial #55673 45k - 65k BTU Piloit stays lite. Very low flame when furnace kicks on...then humming noise begans and gets louder. Now will not come back on.

Hi,

That sounds like your gas valve went bad...

If it is very old you may have a very hard time finding a replacement for it...
depending on the configuration of the gas train you may be able to update to a newr valve but then maybe not...

You may have to get a new furnace...

Wick and manual for Montgomery Wards Windsor kerosene heater

Hi, I have a Montgomery Ward Sunheat heater. It's a dual burner enclosed type with a door on the front. The fuel tank is cylindrical and about 1 1/2 - 2 gallons. The cap has a needle valve and when turned upside down releases fuel to the burners by gravity. The whole heater itself is rectangular with louvers on the sides and top. I don't know what wicks go in this or if there are compatible replacements out there.
No 84ALO5800A is the only I.D. or Model No.
Thanks,
Jack

Ward Heater Company M0021

These old units have a simple gas valve and a separate regulator. Your best bet may be to replace the gas valve to something more modern. Trouble shooting this most likely be a waste of time, as parts probably aren't available, other than the thermostat. by-pass it, (connect the 2 wires together) and see if it comes on. The blower shouldn't stop the burner to come on. Sounds like the gas company doesn't want to crawl under there to light it.
