I get a lot of "bad disc" error messages with good discs. They often work after 3-10 tries. Can I fix this problem? Is it just a dirty lens?

Try cleaning the head of the DVD and seeif this helps make sure all the connectors are tight in the main board.
If not the optical headd is getting weak or the main motherboard has errors.

Will not play

hello,
you can fixed this by opening the back cover of the player.
Use a dry cotton bud to clean the lens be very careful because it fragile.
Also observe the red beam up of light on the lens when the player is power is on , if it does not beam, the problem could be the lens or the ribbon cable used to connect the lens to the printed circuit board. if any is found faulty replace for a new one for better effectiveness

DVD stopped playing all DVDs

Reset you player by doing the following:
With the player on, hooked properly to your television, and on the correct station:
Open the tray
Close the tray (with no DVD inserted)
Hold the stop button down for a full 5 seconds
The CyberHome screen should appear. You should be able to play your dvd's now.
