The Water has caused the coils inside the speaker to rust.

Buy yourself a broken lcd, but functional speaker , for sale model of your phone, and switch speakers.

Just and idea but if it was recent you might still be able to save it. there might be moisture or water residur left in your phone causing a short. First remove your battery and sim card, plave the phone in a joar and fill the jar with big thick plain raw white rice overnight, the rice WILL actually absorb any leftover moisture. this has saved my wifes phone many times.

My samsung sph m350 took a swim in the hot the back dry, but there is still water in the lcd part how do i take it apart to dry it? phone is not working. thanks.

i personally wouldn't risk further damage by taking it apart to try and dry it off. one trick i use and it may seem silly but does work is to soak it in uncooked rice for a few hours the rice will pull out the water after some time and can help the device work. If the device had been submerged or soaked for any substantial amount of time with the battery in it, it may be a lost cause fyi.

My Pantech Jest got dropped in my dish washer which had a pool of water at the bottom. The call button and hang up button work. the 2 side are not working. It kept calling that last person I called before...

You skipped an important step: after removing the battery, thoroughly rinse the device in distilled water to remove corrosive ions. Dishwasher water is especially bad; it has soap and chlorine bleach residue in it. That's why you're having problems with bad connections on the side buttons and shorts causing unwanted redialing. You can still try the rinse, but to save the phone, you may have to take it apart and clean out the corrosion. If you are lucky, disconnecting the side switch assembly and cleaning the connectors will solve some of the problems; otherwise it may have to be replaced. A soft pencil eraser (usually the kind that's colored white) does a good job of polishing connector contacts if they are accessible. Search for a YouTube video of the disassembly procedure for your phone - generally the connectors have "secret" latches that must be opened to remove the ribbon cables without destroying something. Remove any eraser crumbs before putting things back together.

Note: the electronics in the phone are vulnerable to electrostatic damage. Do the work on an antistatic mat, and make sure you are wearing an antistatic wrist band connected to the mat. If possible, wear low-static clothing while working inside the phone, and don't let anyone else touch you (transfer of static charge) while you're doing it.

Dropped my cell in water

does your phone still work after being submerged?? i did the same and it was toast...

the screen is layered...glasss, lcd, and they are not meant to come apart. The phone needs to be left out, taken apart as far as you can get to air out. Leave it for a day or so, and put together. Hope this helps

Drop Samsung Upstage in water

wow, himan and masir really have no idea what they are talking about. clean it properly before inserting the battery? remove the battery and get it serviced? you 2 are idiots. the upstage battery can't be removed without disasembling the entire case and then desoldering the battery from the board. i bet you 2 are probably the same people that get complaints left and right when people call dell and get an outsourced call center...

I had my phone in my purse and a water bottle opened up and spilled all over. My phone was able to turn on but the touch screen did not work at all it just beeped.

To fix it all I did was got an eye glass repair screwdriver that you can get at any Walgreens or CVS for around $2. I unscrewed the back screws (there's 5) and took off the top back panel, blow dried it on very low heat for a while and let it sit over night with out the cover. In the morning it worked like new.

Hope this helps.

My gf had the same problem with her phone. We took out the memory card (mini-SD) and it turned on without a problem. Try it.

Dropped MP3 player

It depends on wether the MP3 was dropped in water. If it was, it PROBABLY be dried out depending on the severity of the problem. If it wasn't, it's probably broken. If you plan on getting a new one, I suggest an RCA Lyra. They're very durable and tough. I've already dropped it 6 times at school and not one problem so far. Hope it works
