Question about Apple TV MB189LL/A 160GB RTL 160 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive
Apple TV is setup to only play videos downloaded thru the iTunes store. I have heard there is a way to make Apple TV play your home videos you have downloaded to your computer but I don't know how to do this. Can you help? Thank you
You must create an alias to your movies folder in the iTunes folder and place it in your home movies folder.
so the path would be as follows if on a mac:
Macintosh HD/Users/your_user_name_here/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Movies
highlight it and make an alias by going to the file menu and selecting make alias.
now drag this alias folder into: Macintosh HD/Users/your_user_name_here/Movies
That should do it

You have to add your videos into iTunes for them to be visible to the ATV.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
