there is drain line get chocked up with ice.Please open freezer evaporator cover u will find there is ice blocked in drain tray,melt it with hot water,check drain heater attached to the drain tray,if defective replace it,it will work fine

the water is coming from the freezer when is defrosts. the drain line is in the back wall of the freezer and may be clogged up with ice. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the very back of the freezer, this will hopefully unclog the drain. if not, then you have to take the back wall out of the freezer to get directly to the drain line. there should just be a couple screws holding it; it is just an aluminum or plastic panel.

if you already checked this and think it is a different problem then let me know, i will help you figure it out.

it means that the freezer heater is bad, it's located after you remove the racks from the freezer and removing the back panel, it's at the bottom or below the condenser.

the drain in the freezer is clog make sure the drain from the freezer is clean all the way to the pan next to the compressor . you need to open the back wall of your freezer for that ( the inside wall) clean with buster (water pump)

I Have a Samsung RF265AB The fridge part is cooling fine but the freezer just quit working. We called a repair man and they said it was a leak but if it was a leak wouldn't the top part not be cooling...

That's because Samsung utilizes two cooling systems. One for the Freezer. One for the Refrigerator.

The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle.

Samsung twin door fridge water leaking onto floor

I have a Samsung side by side - model RS253BAWW.

Water was leaking onto floor from main refrigerator, not freezer. It was determined to be a blocked defrost drain.

The repair technician removed the trays and food from fridge, remove the screws from the panel at back, disconnected everything and remove panel.
The stainless tray at bottom of fridge as well as panel itself had solid ice blockage.

He placed panel in sink and used something similar to a blow dryer with narrow hose on it to defrost both the panel and drain in fridge. Took him maybe 15 minutes and charged $99 total for the visit.

In future I will do this myself now that I know how but thought it may be useful information to others who are having similar problems.
