This would seem to indicate that the RAM or motherboard does not work correctly with the settings that you set. There should be a jumper on the motherboard for BIOS reset. Also most newer systems will automatically detect a problem and reset to defaults after 3-5 failed boot attempts. The most likely reason for only seeing 4GB would either be that you have 32-bit version of Windows 7 or that one stick of RAM is bad. To see and use more than 4GB of RAM you need to have a 64 bit operating system.

I was trying to format my computer when sudenly i moved the cd drive to conect a dvd drive , i think i heard static , thats when the red led turns on or beeps 5 times ,, could it be that the power source...

Make sure your RAM and all your cards are seated correctly. I'm guessing based on the static sound and immediate loss of power that your power supply is damaged and needs to be replaced. If the fan in your power supply doesn't turn on, this is in indication that you have a dead power supply. Smell the power supply to make sure it isn't burnt. It will be very obvious if it is.

Pc won't power up

if you've tried other power supply's and are positive that the power button is connected properly and are getting nothing, no beep no lights no fans, then you got yourself a bad board.

Connetors front panel

you will see underneath the panel pins, where they are supposed to go, there will be +HD Led-, in this case it is positive to the left and negative to the right, work out which wire is your positive, usually red.
When you power up check that the Power Light is on and HDD light is flashing, if they arent take the connector out and turn it around.
If this doesnt work please post you Mobo Serial number here
