Question about Samsung LN26A330J LCD TV
When I turn on my tv the volume is at the highest setting - very disturbing. Also I use it as a monitor and when I wake up the computer it goes to tv instead of pc (I think because the default setting to go to pc is just a few seconds off). I called the help desk and their only answer was to return it to the factory setting (which was the highest setting). Any help would be appreciated for this VERY annoying problem. Model ln26a330j1d.
Do you have the video set to a range that this display cannot handle? Try rebooting into Safe Mode and set the resolution down to 800x600 or 1024x768 and see if it that will get you back. If so, then look up the specs of the display and set it no higher than it's max.
If it physicaly powers OFF, then you probably have a power issue.

I would say your monitor is bad if you have tried it on 2 different monitors and it does the same on both. Check your warranty expiration date, some monitors have 2 or 3 years warranty. If it's still under warranty, you may be able to have it replaced or repaired.

The monitor is not going to sleep the power supply board is shutting down. If you can solder you should be able to repair the monitor yourself. The problem is caused by blown capacitors on the power board. Go to our web site at : www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm We have pictures of what to look for. Open your monitor and look at the power supply board for any blown capacitors, replace all that you find. The replacement parts can be ordered from several places on the internet or we can supply them for you. The replacement parts will need to be high temp and will be marked 105c. The values you need to get will be marked on the sides of the ones you take out but will be something like 220uf, 470uf, or 1000uf etc. and then a voltage rating. When you install the new ones be sure to insert them with the polarity stripe going the same direction as the old ones come out. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $35 plus return shipping. If you have any questions just let us know
I hope this helps if so please rate our solution.
