Energizer CHDC charger suddenly not indicating if charging or not

Hi, I have a Energizer CHDC-CA charger, and I was charging just a minute ago..... But now the light won't turn on, leaving me in confusion if it was charging or not.... Solutions will be greatly appreciated. The battery is Energizer Rechargeable 2500 mAh. Yes, it is nickel-metal hydride(NiMH).

I have an Energizer battery charger that can charge both AA and AAA (2 slots each). It says in the instruction manual that it takes about 18 hours to charge 2000 mAh nickel-metal hydride batteries, and that when the batteries are fully charged, the light shuts off. It has been a lot more than 18 hours (probably three or four times more), and the green light is still on. Does this mean my charger is broken? (Just bough it brand new too) Or something else?

It sounds like the PC Board which provides the circuitry for the Charger's indicating light is malfuntioning. If you have a DC volt-meter, you can check the Charger's output voltage, and then the Battery voltage to determine if your charger is functioning.

Hint: If the Charger has an output voltage, but the Battery's voltage is less than its rated voltage... it's time for a new battery.

Energizer CH2PC-UK battery charger' how long do i charge AA and AAA batteries

Charge time depends on the mAh capacity of the batteries (should be listed on the package, or the side of the battery) most AAAs are under 900mAh so 2 hrs should be sufficient, but AAs vary greatly in capacity so heres a link to check after you look up your mAh rating

What does it mean when a household battery charger flashes red then green? The charger is a SYNERGY DIGITAL rapid quick charger. I'm trying to charge new AA Energizer Lithium batteries.

When the charger light is changing from red to green that is a indication that it is charging the battery. When the charge is complete the light will stay green until the battery is removed or the charger is unplugged.

The LED's on my Energizer charger flash red and green constantly.

If your charging 2 batteries only they must be palced in the following poistions on the charger
1. both side by side in the 2 left slots

or

2. one each in the two right slots.

Otherwise the batteries will not charge.

The users manual can be downloaded here:

How do I place 2 batteries in charger instead 0f 4?

Hello. Just place the two batteries together at the far left, or at the far right to charge them.. Just do not place them in the middle, or with an empty space between them. here is a link to the instruction sheet for your future reference http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/chdc_instructions_english.pdf

14.4 B&D firestorm battery will not charge. I got it about a year or so ago online and just now tried to use it. charge is gone and it won't charge. do they wear out if not used?

Yes, Batteries can go bad if not keep charged. The problem may also be the charger itself. If you have a DC Voltmeter, you can check the charger's output...... if no output voltage is apparent (or too low an output voltage, relative to the Battery's voltage, it may be time to replace the charging unit.

BATTERY CHARGER RADIO SHACK DELUXE 10 CELL

I would go to Radio Shack and have them explain the proper charging procedure as well as inquire about the red and green lights as not all chargers go green when fully charged-Normally red indicates a charging action and if a charger has no fully charged light, then a required charge time period is noted in the instructions. Batteries can be ruined by over charging!
