If you get card error with all memory cards, even formatting inside the camera from menu options, and you already replaced the card and reset the camera, then one of the contact to the card reader is broken.
To fix the problem the camera must be taken apart at a repair point , and the contact re-soldered.

Check also that there is no foreign object, like dust or a piece of paper inside the memory card reader, it will have the same effect.

Can you place the card in a laptop or desktop card reader? You can try formating it and try again. If it does not work, you probably need to buy a new memory card.

Sorry for that...

You may need to:
1. format the memory card of the camera;
2. clean the contact points/pins of the card and the camera; or
3. you may need a memory card reader attached to a PC to diagnose & repair/format the card; and
4. worst case scenario, replace the memory card.

Format you card and insert it . If you still get card error with different cards . Then it is the slot which needs to be checked . Take to service center to check the slot . To check the slot just insert the card again and again for about 5 to 6 times your card will be detected once .

Canon SD1300 memory card locked

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. But, if you've checked the slide switch, the internal switch in the card slot may be jammed by a grain of sand or gunk. Here are troubleshooting steps for this problem. Recommend the toothpick fix for your particular problem.

Write error problem

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. "Write error" problem occurs when the data could not be recorded due to an error connection between the memory card and the camera. Also this error appears when the image that your trying to save is too large to fit in the available space in your memory card. You can try this steps to get rid of this error.

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Take off the memory card ad try to clean it with soft and dry cloth.
3. Re-insert memory card.
4. Turn on the camera again.

If you still have the same error, try to replace your memory card with a new one.
If the error still persist, you need to contact your Fujifilm service center.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for using Fixya,

I have a finepix S602Z and when i turn it on it comes up as card error this happens on different cards any ideas on how to correct this please

I suggest you take the batteries out and wait two minutes and reinsert them. Making sure that they are inserted correctly. If this doesn't work, try replacing the batteries with new ones.

If you formatted the memory card using your computer, or deleted images using your computer, you now need to Format the card with the CAMERA. One of the camera menus will have a Format command.
This is what FujiFilmUSA.com has to say about the Card Error:

When you recieve a "Card Error" or "Card Not Initialized" message, this indicates that your memory may be temporarily corrupted. This can be due to not formatting your memory card on a consistent basis. Most consumers will use the "delete all" feature and continue to take pictures. By doing this, the file format of the card may become unstable.

We recommend formatting your memory card in your camera after saving the images from your previous shooting session. Once a memory card is formatted, the images will not be recoverable.

Whenever I attempt to upload pics from my finepix z70, all I see is a gray screen that says USB. If I transfer the card to another camera, I can upload all the pictures, but not the videos and use the...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Whenever i turn the camera on it says card error and turns off. Help?

You may need to format the card in the camera to get it to work again. This will erase it so download any pics from it using a card reader.

Memory card not working? ( fuji finepix Z20fd Digital Camera)

Hi there.

When you start using a memory card, you must format the card in the camera first...using the camera menu. If you don't the camera won't read the card properly. Try that and I bet it will work for you.
