CyberPower PC HDMI port not working after power outage

I left my computer on while I was taking a shower and the power went out. It was out for less than 30 seconds, and when I came back the tower was still on, and the monitor was not. I tried to get the monitor to exit sleep mode, but I couldn't. I gave my computer a hard shut down and then rebooted it. The monitor popped up a blue screen with a "HDMI Signal not availible" message. I've searched the web, and found no solution. I hooked my tower up to my tv and it still didn't work, no display. The tower seems to power on fine, but there's no signal. If anyone knows of any solution I will kiss your feet as I really don't want to send my pc in to have it looked at.

This fault could be caused by a lot of things. First you should check your power supply. A tester is available for only a few quid. and it is easy to use. Also check your RAM.If you have a different display port (VGA,DVI etc.) on your tower then try getting a signal from that. This will tell you if the computer has failed or if it is only the HDMI port or Graphics card.

Thanks for the reply but I fixed the problem easily. I turned off the power strip surge protector the monitor and tower are plugged in to for a little over 24 hours and turned them back on. Everything is back to normal now.

your monitor is telling you it's on it's last legs..either that or your compaq has a bad video section. either is more vital than a video cable being loose.

SOURCE: My hp2009m monitor goes into sleep mode

Monitors are programmed to go to sleep when there is no input. If you shut it down on the other "tower" also it will do the same. You need to physically hit the power button on the monitor to actually shut it off.

Bad battery in the UPS. To test unplug all equipment. Check outgoing power with voltage meter. Should read around 115vAC. Then unplug from the wall outlet. Check voltage again. If no voltage is present its a bad battery.

Does the unit have a breaker on the back? There may also be a fuse. You should be able to find a users guide on the CyberPower website.

If the unit may have failed during the power outage.

CyberPower CPS825AVR trips after 5 seconds

Needs a new batter most likely. The same thing happened to my CPS825AVR that I use in my home office. Emails to CyberPower went unanswered so I had to solve it on my own. It uses a lead acid battery much like those used in emergency lighting, and not unlike a battery in your car. It will initially fail to keep your electronics on after a power failure, just shutting off and beeping like mad. Then it will fail to stay on entirely. Try holding down the red reset button for a period of time. It may reset, but chances are it will not work after you unplug it from the wall to simulate a power outage, and will need to be reset again.

For me the first failure occurred when the unit was left in storage. Like most batteries a lead acid battery if left uncharged will deteriorate and be unable to hold a charge. The second battery purchased online just failed after barely more than one year. It was a battery made by Werker, which is a very common replacement battery for emergency lighting also. At this point I am not going to spend any more money in this unit. It is unclear to me as to whether it is a lousy battery or the unit is unable to maintain a charge in such a way that the battery will survive a long life.

I will buy a UPS made by APC, I am using an APC for my entertainment system now. They are more readily supported and offer more options with regard to replacement batteries. I suggest finding a model to suit your needs and then search to see what support there is for it. I got about 5 years out of the first battery and was able to easily get a replacement online. The APC batteries are also relatively competitive in pricing so there is less need to pursue an aftermarket brand.

VL320m will not connect with my computer via HDMI after power outage?!?!? Can anyone help me please. Tryed unplugging for 5 min that didnt work. updated Bios that didnt work. What could have happened?

Well, it could be one of a few thing, first, maybe you have simply "Lost" your Video Drivers, install your Video and HDMI drivers again, ensure you set it all up correctly, and have the PC configured for Multiple desktop, and the screen resolution and Format are correct. Also the correct External input is selected (HDMI). Now On the TV, you should also unplug the set to "Rest" anything that may have gone awry, now re-set up the TV again, after you are sure all is working, then with everything OFF, plug it all up, and in. Turn ON the TV, and select the HDMI input, Now startup the PC, it should detect the TV and you should display a picture. If you don't get a picture power off tv and try again, check all once more,if you are still no go then I suspect the the TMDS transmitter has had an overcurrent situation, often caused by a power outage and or spike, surge, if left plugged in when power was reconnected. In this case, you will need to get it repaired, or get a service manual, and maybe have a go yourself, hopefully it will not come to that.

Wiring Fault light

You can download the manual from the link below: http://www.sourceresearch.com/cyberpower/cyberpower-pdf.cfm?PdfPage=625_Manual.pdf The "wiring fault" could be serious, as per manual: "This LED indicator will illuminate to warn the user that a wiring problem exists, such as bad ground, missed ground, or reversed wiring. If this is illuminated, user is advised to disconnect all electrical equipment from the outlet and have an electrician check the outlet to insure proper ground." I would turn the UPS off, unplug all equipment, wait 10 seconds, reset the circuit breaker (if tripped) and turn the unit on. If you still have an issue then it's probably fried! Have you had any thunder storms or electrical power outages recently? Check your house insurance because it may cover a replacement unit. Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!
