Desktop and two laptops won't work with modem & router now
I have a Westell 6100f modem and a Cisco Linksys Router. Best Buy set it all up. Modem goes into router - ethernet cord from router to my
main computer - two laptops connected wirelessly. Everything worked fine until I unplugged the ethernet cord from my computer and the router the other day to replace with a new shorter E cord. Since then, I cannot get them all to work at the same time. Plugged in the way it was, both laptops work. To get my desktop on line now, I have to plug the ethernet cord straight into the modem and my desktop and then my laptops don't work. I have
verified the modem works, the router works and all cables and phone cords work. The modem and router are about 2 months old. Running Windows Xp and MacProbook. Can you please tell me what to reset or how to fix this problem?

- the cord is a cat 5e. It is the same cord I have used for 4 years. All I did was unplug it from desktop and modem and then plug it back in.Clarification Request

What type (cat 5e, cat 6, straight through, crossover, STP, UTP, ???) of cable did you buy? If you switch back to the old cable, do you have the same problem?
