Paint gun not shooting correctly

Seeing how you have really stated what the problem is (spitting, clogged, won't shut off, fan pattern wont adjust Etc) and there could be several different things wrong- lets go over some basic spraying A B C'S- always strain the paint through a strainer bag or cone this will remove any debri that might clog the tip, *THINNING when you spray or atomize paint it should always be thinned it will actually cover much better if you thin it with the appropriate solvent water for latex thinner for oil base you want to stay in the 15% range alittle bit more on hot days. The shape of the spray that comes out of the tip is called "fan pattern" or "tip fan" "fan size" you can adjust the fan pattern from 9:00 - 3::00 or sideways to straight up and down or to a small circle this is done by moving the "tip housing retainer" keep a piece of cardboard to practice and see. IMPORTANT:When you have finished spraying you need to clean the entire gun by running the right solvent through the gun untill nothing but clean solvent is coming out dissemble the gun remove and clean needle and needle housing this is not very complicated and is paramount to maintaining any spray equipment for sure the gun....

I'm having a problem with my finish line flg 3.. I'm getting air bubbles blowing back up into the cup of my gun causing the paint to spit out when I try to spray.. Is there any reason this would be...

Make sure that the vents on the gun are clean and if the problem is still present then you have a problem with wear on the bushing or the needles. Air is blowing back into the cup before the needle is opening enough. So this could be a pressure, timing or wear issue.

440i wont stop spraying

Either your gun is dirty and the valve spring can't close the tip valve properly or the seat it pushes against is damaged. First try cleaning the gun very throughly. Take it apart and get everything out of the gun that doesn't belong there. If it still does the same thing you can buy a repair kits for the paint guns but they're usually expensive and you're almost always better off replacing the gun.

Im a professinal spray painted. Although i now what you have there are a lot of variblys this is called a conventional system. Is made for light meteral spraying on metals or fine finish objects. Paint quilty and thinning and proper air control feed and volume are the most critical as well as the envirment that you are working in do to the extened time it takes the meterial to set up and the number of coats to achive the mil thickness required for the product to proform at its specified levels. Looking at your gun if the picture is correct the upper control knob is the spray pattern control and the second knob is the paint or fulid control the amount of paint that comes out he tip that is also controlable but olny from vertical to horizontal pattern it should come out in a cone shape. And what you realy need hear is a regulator between the regulator at the compressor and the air supply at the air hook up on the gun and also a water trap in line before that so condensation drops woun't spit out the tip and pock mark the finish. Idon't know what you want to use this mechine for but it is a vary complex opperation and you had better do your homework if there is liabilty involved with what you are doing. good luck

Why does my gun keep spitting

Spitting is usually caused by not filtering the paint through a strainer (made for the purpose by the paint manufacturer). The paint debris blocks the paint for just a moment, then spits it out. Easy fix!

PAINT GUN SPITS PAINT AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF USE

Are you straining the paint through cheese cloth or some other type of strainer ? Trash in the paint building up around the tip could cause it, straining will eliminate that. The return spring, or the grommets depending on what type of gun your using could be wore out keeping the needle from seating closed all the way. Is it when you stop spraying or during. May need to change the pressure setting or tip size for the material you are spraying, again, depends entirely on your specific situation as to what could be causing the problem. But these are things you can try. The paint store would probably be able to point you in the right direction if it comes down to changing tips. Might be worth a call to save yourself more aggravation. hmmm,, goes to show how observant I am,, sanchezauto,, are you painting cars,, with a conventional cup gun ? All of any of the above could apply. And if your painting cars you sure don't want a spitting gun messing you up. (-8
