HBW1241 Can Not Change Remote Battery

Hello, I can not open the back of the remote control to change the battery. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I have the HBW1573, and have the exact same problem. There appear to be two places on the body of the remote where you can wedge a small coin (I tried a dime) to open it, but I can't budge it, and seem only to be damaging the plastic.....can anyone help?

I have the same remote. You need to wedge in a flat-head screwdriver. Push it into the plastic and turn. This will release it from the catches. Now I just have to find out where to get the flat 1/2" lithium battery to replace it.

Maybe time to change the remote battery? Many remotes also suffer from poor solder joints where the battery terminals are. Check the terminals and re-solder as needed.

I would recommend this. I'm not sure this will work, but I think it will.
Try starting from scratch. Reprogram the unit to the car again, I think the codes change each time it is done. If not, it's not too difficult to try.

Anytime a door opens and/or closes randomly or doesn't work consistently I look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button.

If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation and activate the door or interfere with the remote signal.

Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples.

The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button.

Or a remote in someone

The receiver is going out and will not receive signal from the remotes. try to reset it by unplugging the motor from the power sorce for about 30 seconds and then plug back in. this should reset the logic board. If this doesn't work you will need to replace the board

Reprogramming remote openers after changing opening code.

If you have dip switches on the back of the opener then the ones in the remote have to match exactly to recode. If you have a learn button on the back of your unit you need to press the learn button and then press the button on the remote1-3 times depending on the brand of the unit. If this does not work try pressing and holding the learn button and then pressing the remote on the remote. The brand and model number would narrow things down greatly for an accurate answer. Thanks BB

Opener will not recieve programing instructions from the keypad.

There should be a button on the back of the door opener that says "teach" or "learn". Push that button, a light comes on and you have about 30 seconds to program the control by holding it near the unit and holding the remote button down. The opener will then learn the code from the remote.

Liftmaster garage door will not close from the remote in the car

Hello, friend, W/D here.

I saw your post; I haven't seen the one you referred to. I have had similar issues to your's and here's what I did:
Having to hold the button down the entire time indicates that either your photoelectric eyes are out of alignment, or one of them has broken. If broken, the light on it will be out. Sometimes you can tighten the wire to repair, and tapping on it a bit won't hurt it. Adjusting the alignment is a bit of trial and error, but a string line helps to get them close. You can again judge by the light on the cells.
Not close from the car......started out good, got weaker... Same for battery fixed it. I think I had to reprogram the remote, and the instructions were on the back of the lift motor in the garage....

Garage door opener will not respond to security plus remotes

Reset the Liftmaster unit. There should be a red reset button on the unit in the garage. If this does not work, reset the breaker. Good Luck!

Can't program remote control to garage door opener

Get a ladder and remove the cover from your opener you should see a small switch with four switches match the switches with the ones on your remote and you should be in.
