Whirlpool inline water filter - can't turn the turnoff valve

I paid extra money to get a filter that could be turned off for filter replacement without shutting off the main water supply. Your water filter WHKF-DWHV seems to have been billed to do that and I bought and installed it only to find it impossible to turn the designated vale on top to change the filter element. Trip back to Lowe's - they had one on shelf and took it out of the box and found they could not turn that one either. Your customer service representative was of no help - obviously confused about the unit - told me to turn off the main water supply before turning this vale etc - all of which is contrary to the claimed operation. Needless to say I am very disappointed in Whirlpool and their info and reps. I apply to you to inform you of the problem and to see if there is anything of a rational nature that can be done to make this thing work properly. Your comments will hopefully help solve this problem. JimBlizzard

SOURCE: Pioneer PDP 5030 power supply problem

Ok here's how I manage solve the problem... Having the back removed opens the contacts on the interlock switch so I guess if it powers up in this state it senses the high voltages are exposed and for safety shuts down... After this the unit will not power up and the power led flashes red continuously as described before…
After some thought it occurred to me that there may not be a problem at all, just be a simple reset function for this condition… I managed to find an easy solution to this… Just call up the hidden engineer’s service menu – On 3rd generation Pioneer Plasmas it’s as follows > Power down the screen > Hold down the “Input” and “Vol +” buttons on the front > Power the screen up and the Service menu comes up on the screen > You don't need to change anything just simply power off and from then the screen should operate as normal…It did for me so I’m well happy now!!
I hope this information will help someone else one day – Good Luck!!…Rob UK…

SOURCE: lights flashing all cooling appears normal ice maker flap continually opens and shuts no water buttons not operational

As I mentioned before my Maytag was doing the same thing, I called Maytag expecting a big fight but they were really nice about it.
This is a recall problem and even if your warrenty is up Maytag will repair it at NO COST to you.
They shiped me the HV board and sent a repairman who had it fixed in about 10 minutes with a newley designed HV board.

SOURCE: icemaker

There is a water fill adjustment on your ice maker the normal fill time is 7.5 seconds...

the adjustment screw is on the side and in the middle of the head..
•Turning the water level adjustment screw
will move the contact in its relationship with
the contact ring segment. This causes the
contact to vary the time that the water valve
is energized since the contact ring is tapered
at the end of the fill time.
•Turning the knob or screw clockwise
decreases fill - counterclockwise increases
the fill amount.
• Only one revolution is possible with the
cover on, due to a stop molded on cover
360o will affect fill by 40cc - 180o varies
the fill by 20cc.

•if you need more adjustmnet remove cover

• Further adjustment could damage
module.

Hope it help please let me know if it does...

If you have a inline filter on its about stop up need to replace it. If you don't have one then the filter on water valve is stopping up. You need to turn water off going to ref. and take water line off and clean out filter inside water valve then put it back and it should work fine after.

This is a fill error, you need to make sure thee is adequate water pressure and that the inline filter in the inlet hose is not blocked.

Whirlpool awm 8103/s keeps stopping during cycle with code FH displayed? any suggestions

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Whirlpool's 'FH' stands for 'no water inlet' (but goodness knows how 'FH' could mean that!)

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

Whirlpool front loader AWM6145/3 1450 RPM DURING THE WASH HAS COME UP WITH FH. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN PLEASE

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

'FH' for whirlpool washers decodes as 'no water inlet'.

Turn the taps off and remove the water hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace them and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve or malfunctioning control board. Sorry but it needs a service call to confirm ;-0(

I have a whirlpool Heavy duty extra large plus washer where the water will not stop running into it. The only way to turn the water off from entering the tub is by turning off the supply valve - even when...

A defect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. In time, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you need to replace the valve.

Whilpool ed25sm Cold water dispenser leaks

your water valve is bad. behind the ref. in back is a cover. unplung unit remove ref. from back wall about 2-4 ft.remove back cover and you will see a water valve. thats the piece that the hose (your incoming water supply line hooks upto) 1/2 fitting. turn water suppy off. remove screw holding valve. disconnect wires one bye one and hoses one bye one.(so you dont mix them up).if your ref has a inline water filter and has not been replaced in a while i woiuld try that first. valve is about 45-85/ depending on your model ,i do not have that.and labor roughly 75-125 to replace depending on were you live and who you use. hope this helps you.

I have a GE side by side stainless steel refrig. the water will not dispense. How can I fix it?

Is there water to the water valve in the rear of the fridge? If yes, replace the water filter if older than 6 months or if you're on a well. You may need an inline water filter behind your fridge in addition to the one in the fridge to protect the water valve. If no, turn on the water. If you're making ice but no water dispense and you have a new water filter. Replace the water valve.
