    Hello Nic, the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-81PE 1000 (Rev 1.0)Socketr 478 865 Pe

That is the info on the receipt I got when I bought it on ebay in August 2008. The mobo is a good, solid, stable board. I m on the tag end of the phone line in the county, and on dial up. This board just runs too slow. I need to know how to change the settings on the board to make it run faster.

    Thanks very much, Mack.

    Hi Mac!

There is 15 diferent mobos of that 81PE1000, you need to be more specifik on the modenumber.

Or you can look for the manual yourself on Gigabytes site here:

Hi again Mac!

Good, now i will give you the manual:)
http://america.giga-byte.com/FileList/Manual/motherboard_manual_8ig1000p_e.pdf

And here is the support site for the mobo, you may need some drivers or so
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Manual_Model.aspx?ProductID=1654

To run it faster you may look in to some forums how to overclock the cpu and the gpu. There arent many settings you can do in the bios to get it faster, the speed is almost all about the hardware

Good luck M8!

My Dedicated Video Memory Is 64MB. How to i increase dedicated video memory.I Use gigabyte Motherboard

Hello here is the gigabyte homepage:

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/support-downloads.aspx

The manual can be found by, selecting the mainboard number.

The video memory can be changed in the bios settings, but can probably only be decreased to a lower setting.

I guess the 64 mb, is the max memory setting.

The solution is to add a better graphic card, on the mainboard for better performance.

A graphic card can be bought in a computer shop, or online.

You just have to know, what socket the mainboard has.

There is 2 different ones: AGP or PCI-E slot

Good luck

Based on the user manual starting v.2 dated April 2004, this mobo uses a dip switch array to set your processor and bus speed.
You will need to set the correct processor speed based on manufacturer [AMD] description.
Visit this link and see page 23 to set the switches as needed for your new processor.

That mobo uses DDR400 PC3200 memory and a 800MHz. Front Side Bus (FSB) P4 processor. You can download System Information for Windows (free) here: http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html, or use a similar program to get the details of your machine. The Gigabyte website also has the manual for your mobo.

Make sure Hyper-Threading is enabled in the BIOS to take full advantage of the P4 proceessor

Hello!

Yes you can. Any DDRII RAM can function at 1.8v.
Every memory module has profiles written into it, this allows it to function at various speeds and voltages, and 1.8v is the default voltage for DDRII.

Voltages above 1.8v are used for overclocking, to take full advantage of high speed DDRII memory you should manually set the voltage and frequency in your motherboards BIOS (accessed by pressing DEL or F1 during boot), if your motherboard does not have options to set these parameters manualy then your memory will function at the default speed and voltage

Hope this helps!
