Need to remove alt belt so I can replace alt belt

Alternator belt removal on older engines is very much an intuitive process but it becomes increasingly complex on modern engines, especially on cars with a high level of trim and accessories.

It is best to refer to a repair manual because the adjustment of many belts is automatically taken care of by a jockey pulley and a strong spring. The correct procedure for releasing the tension should be used to avoid damage and cursing.

Some late model engines have no automatic tensioner but use a stretchy belt. Although it is possible to remove and refit such belts it is recommended they are removed by cutting them and a new belt fitted. A simple tool for fitting the new belt is supplied but a degree of patience is needed.

I have just fitted a new transmission belt to my westwood 1012, it will go into gear when the motor is off but when the motor is running the gears will not engage when the clutch is pressed

You've probably put the belt on incorrectly or not put the clutch wheel or spring back correctly. When you press the clutch a jockey wheel on the drive belt should release the tension, allowing the belt to slip and the gears to be engaged.

I am trying to replace my timing belt on my 1992 Toyota Corolla [1.6 liter engine], but I cant figure out how to remove the gears the belt was on ,we already removed the belt because it broke .please give...

Why remove the gears? No need to. Just be sure they are clean of any belt residue. The gears are locked in the correct position for the shafts.
You need to rotate the gears to position the shafts (Crank and Cam) to the correct position before installing the belt. Follow the instructions that should have come with the belt. Usually need to line up some marks on the gears to marks on the engine case for the valve timing to work right.
Pull the spark plugs so you can turn the crankshaft easier (BY HAND ONLY) Mark the wires to reinstall correctly. I did this a long time ago. Seem to remember pointing the mark on one gear to the mark on the other gear. Use a straight edge to line up the two. Dont take this as gospel.
Good luck.

Need to know what size and hoe to change belt for yardman 46" cutting deck for blade model # 13a0771h055

If you are missing the manual, for the said model,
I have found that the simplest way, of figuring out the correct route for the belt, is to remove the deck, and hold the replacement belt above the mechanism, with the tension from the engine end.
Then 'mock up' the replacing proceedure, bearing in mind the correct direction the tensioner/s, move in.
Then it's not too difficult to figure it out the correct route.
Hope that's clear enough, good luck.

Dont know how to put the new fanbelt on

If you open the bonnet and look to the left hand side you will see the jockey wheel that keep the belt tight tight. It has a square 3/8 inch fitting in it, put in a rachet of that size and take the tension off. Your belt will now lift off all the pulleys easy. If I was you I would make a simple drawing before you actually take off the drive belt as it runs over a number of pulleys and if you do the drawing easy to fit the new one on.

Once you have old one off fit new one and take the tension off with the rachet as you did prior to removing use your drawing to fit it correctly. I would also make sure your jockey wheel is fine prior to fitting the new belt listen for any rough bearing noise from it when you spin it.

Make sure you get the right belt from a ford dealership asthe length is critical of the new one even one a little shorter wont fit, dont be talked into buying one that seems nearly the right length, it must be the Ford one and the right length.

no need to remove motor shaft which is integral with motor. slip belt on motor shaft first, then on roller then pull roller back to correct position. needs a little force
