Calibration for a new lcd hdtv

Hi I have purchased a Panasonic
37 LZD80. It is 1080p and has a built in freeview. The tv came with the usual factory settings but the image quality looks dire - it was a considered purchase after much research and guidance from 'Which HDTV Guide'. Is there any way I can calibrate the settings for optimal picture output. The tv will show regular dvds and regular satellite tv - I have not subscribed to a HD provider as I'm a littel dubious about it. Please could you help?

Thanks...the tv is rigged up to a Sky package therfore it is digital. I have tweaked the settings a little, it is somewhat improved. Thanks for your interest.

All the DLP sets, you can throw out

All the Older Projection sets you can throw out

I would take the rest for scrap parts.

I hope this is helpful.

Attempting to retune channel 5 was asked to return to factory settings answerd Yes and lost picture, sound and channel changing still O.K.Please advise.Don.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

Hi, the best thing to do is do a factory reset check your manual for details on doing this. if this does not work i would advise taking the set back to where you got it and they should replace the set for you

Recording Problems

Hi.

Yes.
Most tv sets with freeview built in do not allow you to record it.
Check your tv instruction manual to see if it is at all possible.
