Question about Robinair 17800B CoolTech Multi - Recovery, Recycling, Evacuation and R
Just got this machine used. Didn't have a vacuum pump, so I stole the pump from the older machine; same part number. Also purchased the proper tank with red and blue valves.all hoses are connected, unit powers up, fan spins, and when I push Shift and Recycle at the same time, the compressor will run for a moment, then shut down. The display reads "Full" if I push Recover, it will says on the display Automatic and Recover. then it will say CH-P. When I push Enter, nothing happens, when I push Charge, nothing happens, when I push Vacuum, nothing happens. all the numbers work, but that's it. Also, I cannot find the receptacle for the vacuum pump. Any help would be appreciated.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It's seems to be problem with your unit relay board, vacuum pump or pressure transducer. Most of Robin air 34788 machine having same problem. You can try as follows 1# Open vacuum pump oil filling cap to release extra pressure from pump.2# Replace new relay board & follow the on screen message(do not skip any option).3# Check pressure transducer is working properly.I hope this will help you.

Please check the following: 1# Check the recovered amount of refrigerant since the last filter change(Max.filter cap.150 LBS/68 KG).If more then this you must change spin-on filter & vacuum pump oil.2# Check with vacuum gauge on compressor test(During compressor running) port & make sure it has 13"HG of suction,If suction less then 13''HG then you have to replace the compressor.3# Check all tank hose (Vaipor,Air purge & Liquid) is connected on the ISV tank quick seal.(Do not over tight).Hope this will solve your problem.

I think you'v try to inject the oil from ''WRONG'' side,as you say RECOVER/VACUUM which is LOW side manifold valve. You should inject the oil from HIGH side ( Turn the high side valve to CHARGE/OIL INJECT after vacuuming & low side vulv to CLOSE possition ) with pressing F1 key. once you press it then hold the key as long as you wish to inject the oil. If you try this way & you still have problem with oil injection then you may need to check oil injection CHECK VALVE or oil injection SOLENOID ( Both located under Hidg side panel mountin valve). NOTE: UV Dye is not a problem for oil injection! I hope this will help you to solve the problem,Good luck. Don't forge to vote for my solution!

For change vacuum pump oil follow the bellow step: Press main
menu then keep pressing up or down arrow key till display show "CHANGE VACUUM OIL" then press "YES" key. Now vacuum pump will
run for two minute & stop automatically. When pump stop you just open the
oil drain cap and drain all used oil from pump (oil drain cap located outside
of the machine near high & low side hose). After draining all used oil replace
oil drain cap and fill 5 ounce new ROBINAIR vacuum pump oil then press "YES" key and keep filling oil up to middle of sight glass of vacuum
pump. Press "STOP" key to complete the process.
NOTE: Do not over fill the pump & do not use any COMPRESSOR oil on the vacuum pump!
Hope this will help you & if it is please vote for my support.
