Question about Singer Confidence 7469 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

How do I take the machine apart #7469? Where I plug in the foot the plug thing went into the machine

I don't want to have to bring it in for repair. But I don't want to damage it either. I took out all of the visible screws. But it isn't coming apart.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Is it the foot pedal that you want to remove or is there a problem with it? Exactly what is the problem you're having?

Sounds like the same problem I'm having. We are just trying to take apart the machine at home so that we don't have to take it in but I can't get it to come open.

I have a new singer 7469 confidense quilter - regardless of thread, needle, and material (all being appropriate for one another) the upper tension always pulls the bottom thread to the top. I have tried...

1. Adjust the bobbin tension tighter. The tension you are trying for is to be equal to the top tension.
2. The top tension should start at about four. When you are threading the top do it with the pressure foot up.
3. As you are threading the top give little tugs to check for snags.
4. When you thread the tension control make sure it goes through the tension disc.
5. After you have threaded (except needle) lower the pressure foot.
6. Give a tug to see if the thread will move without excessive resistance.
7. Thread the needle and try sewing.

My singer 7469 lights are all blinking she won't sew

flashing lights, beeping sound are error signs its posiibly the upper tension path is not threaded correctly. Check that the transparent thread path located at the top of the machine is threaded correctly.
Hold thread in both hands and slip under transparent thread guide. While holding the thread securely, pull the thread towards you and then slip it back and forth like you were flossing. You should hear or feel two clicks as the thread slips past the thread guides. 2ca6d1db-fd79-4114-9d73-88b025c69c68.jpg

What's your problem?Have a TOYOTA EZT9000 and it seems to have slowed quite a bit. Does it need oil? If so, where do I put it in?

there are other things that can cause the machine to slow down
like the motor, foot pedal, have you checked these things first
1. is the power cord plugged into the outlet securely
2. is the power cord plugged into the machine correctly
3. is the foot pedal plugged into the machine correctly
4. is the cord to the foot pedal caught in the foot pedal
if none of these are the problem, then the machine needs to be serviced
to see why it's running slow

What's wrong with the machine when the thread is skipping on top and bottom.

hi, it could be several things

damaged needle---try new needle

needle is not correctly inserted into machine----flat side of the needle goes to the back of the machine

wrong size needle for the fabric--choose a needle to suit thread & fabric

the wrong foot is attached--select correct foot

if you check all these things & they don't help then it's possible the machine is out of time

When I plug my machine in, it starts sewing very rapidly. I inherited it and am unfamilar with it.

The capacitor in the foot control has blown, undo the foot control and take out the little silver square thing and throw it away, you don't need it

Have a singer 7469. thread got jammed and bobbin was stuck. cut it apart but now the needle is hitting the bottom of the bobbin casing compartment. could it have shifted. looks like there is a channel for...

Did you change your needle to a new one? If it is bent or has dropped down, there will be a problem like you are describing. Or you may have bent the shaft for the needle, hopefully you will be able to fix it yourself.
