SOURCE: electric fireplace does not heat

I have a cheap electric fireplace bought in SuperCentre store-heater no longer works. It says its a one piece system. Can these heaters be replaced or repaired(probably made in China) or am i better off scrapping it and buying a new one?

Direct from Sunbeam seems to be the only way. Most units like this use standard parts shared by many makes, so you can take it into a local electrical wholesale shop or try an online shop like ElectroSpares.

I have a FL28-R fireplace and the fan will not start. When you first turn the fireplace on, the element glows for a few seconds and then goes out.. Anybody got any ideas on how to fix this?

Get the fan to operate. Unit is shutting down because it is getting to hot and the thermal cutoff is doing its job.
