Question about Garden

Open Question

Honda 2218 gets slow after it warms up.

I have a Honda 2218. It seems to lose drive after 20-30 minutes. Suspect hydrostatic. Also seems to have beter drive depending on which slope I am on. If the left hand side of the mower is downhill it is worse than if the right hand side is lower. It has only 300 hours on it. All belts and pulleys replaced. I suspect the oil level but can this be topped up. No obvious leeks. Thanks

SOURCE: My Sears 917.272911 Lawn Tractor is eating mower drive belts

There's a couple of things that could be causing this. First, make sure the idler pulleys and blade pulleys spin freely. Second make sure the belt is behind the belt keepers on the two idler pulleys. There is only one on the left idler, but TWO on the right idler. I suspect that is your problem. Anyway, once the belt is on, engage the blades, with engine OFF, and inspect the belt routing, making sure it's not over or under something it shouldn't be.

SOURCE: Strange noise from deck of Toro LX426

The engine wont have an impact with the deck because its belt driven. It sure sounds like you have a bad set of spindle bearings, just turning it by hand you wont hear any noise it has to be going fast to hear it. The noise may be coming from your clutch instead of the deck, and it sounds like the deck. Have these things checked out.

Transmission loses power when pulling disk changed hydraulic filter motor was rebuilt year ago why im i lose power in transmission? ?

If this is a hydrostatic transmission on a lawnmower type garden tractor some power loss is expected. That just the nature of hydrostatic transmissions.

Severe slippage may not be the transmission itself but would the drive belt. These wear out over time along with the idler pulleys; especially the plastic v-idler pulleys. As the idler pulleys wear out is the same as lengthening the drive belt to a point where it slips. Even a new belt will if these pulleys are worn enough.
