Try adjusting the WORK potentiometer on the back of the drive motor housing.

The spring may be worn, and increasing this adjustment will allow the opener to do a little more of the work.

Sounds like you may have a broken spring check for a gap in the spring above the door.
If you have a broken spring call in a pro this is not a repair for DIY. There are way too many safety issues and details to do this without training.

Hope this helps

Make sure you put the black cup back on the end of the motor shaft and that it is pressed all the way on. Make sure the RPM sensor is plugged in. If neither of these are the issue, then you probably did not have the motor shaft pushed all the way back when you tightened the coupler after replacing the worm gear. Loosen that coupler up and from the front of the motor (opposite end in which the coupler is on) push the shaft back as far as it will go. Hold it there while you tighten the coupler back up and then try it.

Garage door only raises about two inches then stops.

Check the door springs and also remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. The door spring could be broken or the drive gear may be stripped.

The sensors only work when the door is closing.

Check for broken door springs or a bad drive gear. Remove the cover from the motor unit and check the gear. It is white nylon and is just in front of the motor.

Remove the cover and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor and it will be obvious if it is bad. The part number is 41A2817 and is available at any good door opener service company. It comes with instructions.

if the stops are not wrong.
they tell it how far to go up and down.

then I think the safety sensor is misaligned.
make sure the light on one side is pointed at the receiver on the other. maybe it is dirty or blocked.

good luck!

Door goes up about a foot and stops

The sensors have nothing to do with your door opening. First thing to check are the door springs. One may be broken. Next remove the cover and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It may be stripped.

Garage door opens about one foot and remains there.

Check the door springs. You could have a broken spring. Also remove the cover and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It is possibly stripped. This is a good time to release the door from the opener and operate it by hand to see just how heavy it has become.

Quantam #3212 garage door opener stops beabout 1 foot from top

There are two limit adjustments on the opener. usually the screw show which way to turn if the door needs to be lowered more or raised more. Turn them only about a1/4 turn with each adjustment.
