Help! I need the administrator password. All my school work is locked inside! It has never asked me for this before????? I bought this used years ago on craigslist!
Hi,if you have another administrator account goto start> type cmd>
type"net user administrator (your new password here)">enter
if you dont have other account try to search internet some software can delete password from startup screen but you must write it on a DVD and make sure your first or primary boot device is your dvd writer, then follow the instructions

SOURCE: dell latitude bios reset
The BIOS setup password is stored in NVRAM and can only be accessed with that password. On the bottom of the laptop there is a Service Tag number. Dell support site can use that number to generate a master password for you. http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn If you need further help please post back. If this password is for Windows, then you will need to contact who set the password originally. Optionally you may use tools online to reset the password. This would require purchasing a utility like SpotMau.
If this password is for the computer it self, before booting to the OS, you have to remove the BIOS battery to clear the BIOS password.
Removing the screws on the bottom of the laptop, the bezel at the top and the keyboard, check the bottom and top of the system board, you should see a flat-cell battery or a plastic coated series of batteries with a cable going to the system board.

you forgot to tell us what password.
Is it a bios password or windows password?
For Windows Password, As far as I know , there are two main methods to solve the windows password problem as follows:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type \Administrator\ (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from \Control Panel - User Accounts\.
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.
Windows password Recovery software:
for example: Any Windows Password Reset 7 . It is easy and convenient to use.
For Bios Password, also two methods.
1st method . Open you computer box and Discharge to the Board manually
2st method . use BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool
