Question about Radio Communications

1 Answer

I have a pro 2023scanner and I can not get any frequincies on it.

When I turn it on, all frequencies are lost and when I try to re-set it I get nothing. What is the problem? All I hear is squelch and I can not turn that off. I think it has lost all memory. Please help.

When I turn it on, the window that shows frequencies , lights up but that is about all. I hear noise, but can see no frequencies and I cannot turn the noise off using the squelch knoob. I can not get any frequencies programmed in to this scanner.

SOURCE: Won't scan frequencies.

Check the ATT settings ... when att is showing I don't believe the scanner is as "sensitive" as it is when ATT is showing  this is explained in the manual.... if I remember correctly it is toward the back of the manual Good luck

I have a Radio Shack Pro 97 Scanner that I received as a present 1-1/2 years ago. It was working just fine and then suddenly there was no squelch or volume. The keys make noise when pushed, but there is no sound for the squelch or volume. The scanner scans the frequencies but does not stop and play. I went on line and found that other people were having the same problems. I went back to the store that the unit was purchased from and received no help what so ever, they said it’ s off warranty and I was out of luck, nice way to do business??. I think that something that cost as much as this should not be junk after a short period of time. I hope you can help me with this problem I do like radio shack, but I can’t afford to buy items that don’t stand up.

SOURCE: scanner problem

If your situation is such that the frequencies display, but there is nothing but the hiss, it could be a
loose solder joint or broken lead from the antenna connector to the board. I have had mine break loose several times and had to replace the lead and solder it into the board.

Check it very closely

Check if one of the batteries MIGHT be in backwards.

NEXT check EACH cell as occassionally you get a bad one brand new.

Two diffrent units with two diffrent frequincys . i wantto change

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but those units are fixed frequencies and cannot be changed. You either have to find a mic that matches your receiver or vice-versa. The freeway 200 series comes in 3 freqs. two of witch you have with the addition of 170.245. Maybe you can find someone who has a damaged mic but still has the receiver with the freq. that you need for your mic.

162.550 NOAA weather frequency

If your still having the problem, it could be that the transmitter for that freq lost some of it's power, so your scanner cannot pick up a clear signal. If everything else is working ok, that's my guess. Hope this helps,,, Mechanic

EasyCam Pro (HO98064)

Try a different driver if your not happy, remove cam and uninstall driver again through add/remove programmes. When you re connect use a different USB port if available. Sometimes the frequency needs to be set at 50HZ, the same as an Eye toy when it's used as a web cam, as the drivers are usually multi country.
