This is a hard one to answer. I can say reinstall Windows. Abit harsh. But there are boot discs that reset passwords. I've said too much - some pc thief might be listening
Just fixed mine again! you need to solder 2 wires to the computer connection then chop of end of cable so that you can solder together. Make sure you get them round the right way!
Try to check your settings in the control panel sound hardware .Maybe its disconnected or there are wires that has been cut-off. Try to check also your volume settings in the task bar. Maybe its set to low or minimum volume.
I have the same problem - Best Buy does not give back-up discs,..but will allow you to purchase them (not cheap). I was used to them coming with my computers.
