Answer to the second problem :-

1. The changes in the ring tone has to be made by accessing the Avaya server where the phones are registered.
2. Log in to the avaya server...... enter change station <station number> on the command prompt
3. In the personalized ring pattern field, you can select one out of the 8 available options by typing any digit between from 1 to 8.

4. The ring pattern of that particular station will change accordingly.

5. Keep the personalized ring pattern of all the stations different by assigning different digits against this value

Ensure the reachability of the call server from that port. To ensure the same, configure a laptop with the IP address and default gateway of the intended IP phone. Then try pinging the call server from the laptop.

If this works then the setting should work for IP phone too. Double check on the router IP address and Vlan ID configured on the phone.

"Discover" is the phones way of saying that it can not see the phone system at the IP address you gave the phone. If the phone is on teh same subnet as the IP Office, check that the IP set in the phone for "CallSrv" is for the IP Office.

If the phone is on a different sub-net, make sure that there is an IP route in the IP Office to allow traffic to come from the sub-net where the phone is set up....

I am unable to go to configure mode to my Avaya 4606 IP phone, i also tries 73738 (R E S E T) - use to change the phone configuration. 25327 (C L E A R) - unsure how similar to or different from...


Sounds like the phone is working fine. When it displays "Discover 192.168.xxx.xxx" it is looking for the call server (Phone system) and cant find it. Make sure the phones IP is in the same subnet of the phone system. Make sure that the phones IP and the system IP can both be pinged from the network.

Talk to your admin. That means that the phone can not see the phone system. This is a network error, not a phone error.

Ihave internet connection but I keep getting a unknow error message on my ip phone when i try to boot it up? IT reads http:1 http://192.168.42.2 411/x 46x grade.scr HTTP 1-1 then TFPT unknown...


The phone is doing what it is supposed to do. If the phone gets to discover, then shows the phone systems IP address...
"Discover 192.168.42.1"

That means that the phone can not see the call server. Talk to the network admin

Avaya assighning New static IP address after IP address conflict


The phone is looking for the calsrv ip address, which it cant see. So it is trying to "Dsicover" it.

Go to another phone and press "mute"ADDR#

You can then see the ip address information and input it into the phone that is incorrect.

What IP did you give the phone? When it says discover, its looking for the call server, which it is not finding.

Which system is this on? If IP office, you may need to build an IP route in the system for that subnet.

4690 Issues


You have to manually enter the callserver IP address (CLAN card). The 4690 are not in the 46xxsettings file.

Discovering


Talk to your system admin. You have a Definity system, which is too complicated for online help. The phone isnt seeing either the license server or the Phone system. There is more than likely an incorrect IP address somewhere.

Not able to connect to server


The software vpn probably will not work.
Is the vpn tunnel up? Can you ping the IPO? what subnet is the pc?
