Sears intek 20 hp, fresh gas, filters air and gas, oil, and plug still won't start where should small valve and screw adjustment be set to, may be the problem don't know. won't stay running...

If you have not been putting gas treatment in your gas to treat the ethenol they have been putting into the gas its a good chance its the needle valve in the carborator. If you live in a state that does not add ethenol to the gas disregard this advise.

I have used my mower 3 times and it is leaking gas out of the carborator faster than i can put it in.

You have water in your gas tank or gas in your carburator float or a needle valve that isn't seated correctly. First empty the gas in your fuel tank into a clear container. If their is water ,you will see it with the gas. Second remove the bowl from the bottom of the carburator careful of the gasket, check for water in the bowl, clean bowl. Carefully remove float and needle valve. Shake float, listen for liquid inside. Check tip of needle valve for damage or corrossion. These three examples should be one or all of your problem. Clean and reinstall all parts. Add fresh gas and you should be ok. GOOD LUCK.

1982 yamaha yz490, I checked the fuel flow and all is good? It has 120 psi compression? And I put a new plug in but still wants to run for a few seconds then die? When it's not running It also leaks...

If it's leaking from the bowl drain, the drain screw isn't seating in the drain hole. Shut the gas off, pull it out and clean the tapered seat it seals in. I know you said you cleaned the carb, but if the float needle isn't seating, it would leak out the overflow and flood out the carb as well. Check out the float-if it's brass, shake it and listen for gas inside. If it's plastic, put it in a cup of gas and see if it floats. They do get saturated over time and need to be replaced. Good luck!
