My whirlpool fridge is not working

if you changed the start device and the compressor still doesn't start you have a bad compressor ,you can read out the pins to check windings on the compressor, should get low readings but it sounds like the compressor is bad and will be cheaper to replace machine.also did you call your parts store, give them the model number off of the machine and install the correct part and check the wiring again,i'm sure you did this, one more thing the easiest way to check the start device is just shake it,if it's bad you'll hear pieces rattling around inside it,if you did use the right device you have a bad compressor

LG Fridge LSC26945TT compressor getting to hot and not cooling

if it's not cooling unplug it so you don't damage the compressor, hopefully you just have a bad overload and relay,it's plugged into the side of the compressor, with the machine unplugged remove the bottom back panel, look at the compressor, remove the cover on the side of compressor and remove the start device or ptc assy. call your local parts store and give them the model number and buy a new start device for your machine.if you can hear a clicking sound every once and a while and the compressor is hot change this out first,if it still doesn't start then you have a bad compressor and will be in the market for a new fridge if the compressor is running take everything out of the freezer, remove the back inside wall of the freezer and check the evap coil,if the coil is all iced up you have a defrost problem,if the evap coil doesn't have an even frost pattern covering the whole coil you have a freon leak.if you have a freon leak you'll have to replace the fridge..hope this helps

Fridge starts up when plugged in but only runs for 10 seconds then shows an E in the Freezer temp and and F in the Fridge temp. What is wrong?

Let it stand in the on position at least an hour to check it's not going through a self defrost cycle. If the temp display then doesn't change and the compressor doesn't run check you have power to the compressor and condenser fan

Refridgerator wont start

if the lights and fans are working but the compressor isn't running most likely you have a bad start device, unplug it you can cook the compressor like this, pull it out, remove the bottom back panel and you'll see the compressor, pop off the clip on the start device that's mounted on the side of the compressor, look where the clip goes because you're gonna have to reinstall it when you put the new device in,when you have the clip off, remove the cover and slide the device off of the compressor pins strait out,it's plugged into three compressor pins.when you get it off of the compressor shake it,if you hear pieces rattling around in it it's cooked, that's the easiest way to check it.you didn't send the whole model number, there's three other numbers before these, they're little,106. or similar,i looked this model number up 10659287990 and it doesn't show the start device just an overload and relay, call your parts store, give them the full model number and they will sell you the correct part that you need.

Our Danby model dpac 11006 was working fine yesterday but came to put it on today just to find out the ac doesn't work the fan still blows just no cool air . we do hear something in and out like a...

The intermittent sound you're hearing is probably the compressor trying to start. This could be caused by a bad circuit or the compressor motor is seized If the latter is the case, it's time to start shopping for a new AC. As the cost to repair would be almost as much as a new unit depending on the age of your unit. However, compressors usually have a 5 year limited warranty. So check you Owners Manual for details. It may still be in warranty.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

The maytag skybox doesn't get cold anymore. we had it outside for a while (we didn't realize you couldn't have it outside) & it worked great all last summer. this spring, we realized it...

First you need to find out if the compressor is kicking on or not. If it isn't then it could be the starting capacitor (item 23), start relay (item 7) or the compressor itself. Since you had it outside I would suspect the capacitor or relay. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Maytag-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-MBV1976AAB/3048/0168000/M0510224/00001

Does the skybox make noise (like your refrigerator starting a cycle)? If not, I would unplug it for a short while and let it set. Then when you plug it back up listen for noises on whether the compressor kicks on or not. If it doesn't then you can check the cap and relay board. Or have your compressor checked for operation and freon.
