Hi Wayne,

Put in an original install disk that came with that Mac and hold option key while booting and select the disk with arrow keys and press enter

Can not insert disk into imac

Assuming of course the iMac is otherwise running and functioning normally, this would indicate that the drive has gone bad. Usually, when you first turn on the computer, you'll hear the drive make a sound. If this is not happening, either there is a disk stuck in it or the drive is defunct. visit this page for some tips on ejecting a stuck disk. If that does not work, you will need to replace the drive.

Probably not configured correctly. Have you tried this same disk in other Macs?

My iMac g4 1ghz wont boot

First hold down the right hand shift key down when you start, this does some housekeeping, The next step is if you have an install disk or tiger disk then start up from it by holding the "C" key down when starting and inserting the dvd, if this loads then go through the install menu, dont worry you do not need to actualy install just select language and then you get to a screen where you can select utilities from the menu bar, then select disk utility and repair permissions, after that do a repair disk then quit disk utility and change the startup disk back to the hard drive and restart, if for some reason you cannot repair the disk, this refers to the catalogs it uses to keep track , not the data itaelf, in that case you need a 3rd party utility like Disk warrior.

Blueberry iMac with slot-loading CD rom drive will

It would be very difficult to open up the imac to retrieve the disc as the CD drive is totally enclosed and would probably result in it not be functional after removing the disk. Have a look at the following article on the apple website
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3007?viewlocale=en_US as it does indicate that the slot loading imac does have a hole for paperclip ejection. You could also try opening up disk utility and and clicking on the icon of your disk under the left hand column then go up to eject button and click eject. Hope this helps.

Dirty DVD Drive?

You can clean your DVD Drive by inserting the Disk Cleaner its either dry or liquid cleaner. If you don't have a disk cleaner just purchase it in the store near in your neighborhood. In that way you can clean the DVD Drive Laser eye and make it possible to read another disk next time you used. Usually it takes 15 minutes the standard cleaning time if you are cleaning the DVD Drive to ensure that it is properly cleaned. Also if it doesn't work then probably you can find a technician and let it check to the technician. I hoe that the laser eye of your DVD Drive is not damage due to some disk you inserted earlier.

Hope this recommendation helps solved your problem.
If you need more assistance just reply to this post. thanks

How can I load OS on imac?

Sadly, without an OS disk, there won't be any easy way to load an operating system on this computer. What you can do though, is order a set of replacement OS disks, from Apple (1-800-MYAPPLE) And have them shipped to you. It should only be 1 or two disks, so I don't see them costing you an arm and a leg (maybe about $50 USD tops). If you can find someone that has an identical model of iMac that you have, you could try borrowing their disks.

Can't get it to work on my new iMac

You may have to go to Canon's website and download the Mac package for it. Some, but not all, installation disks contain software for PCs and Macs but either yours does not or the disk has become unreadable - a problem I have found many times.

Playing PS2 on apple iMac

if the iMac is one of the computers with the slot-load drive (you don't load the disc into a tray before it goes into the computer), then placing a disc smaller than a regular CD/DVD will damage the CD drive and will be very hard to remove.

you could buy an external CD/DVD drive and then use smaller discs with the iMac.

Updating a slot loading iMac from OS8.6

Unfortunately, The disks may be DVD, not CD. You might be able to do the install by networking the iMac to the Macbook and using the laptop's drive to read the disk.
