  1. Grab your A/V composite wires and insert them into the Audio/Video OUTPUTS on the back of the satellite receiver. These are color-coded connections--red to red, white to white and yellow to yellow. The red and white connections are your audio feeds and the yellow is for your video.
  2. Look on the backside of your DVD/VCR dual recorder. You will see similar connections. Connect the other end of the composite wires to the Audio/Video INPUTS on the DVD/VCR dual recorder.
  3. With a second set of A/V composite wires, connect one end to the DVD/VCR dual recorder's A/V OUTPUT and the other end to the television's A/V INPUT. Again, be sure to follow the color code. Also, if your television has more than one available input, be sure to know to which one you made the connections (A/V 1, A/V 2, etc.).

Connect the sky box to the dvd with a scart lead, plug it into av2 on the dvd. When you want to record from the sky, select av2 on the dvd as your record channel.Check that the scart is fully in on the tv and the sky for sound problem.

Can't pick up signal on the other room for my dstv

chances are your problems lie with your connections themselves, most cases its with the splitter box if you are using one, if u are then rather remove the splitter box altogether, u will then need a set of RCA cables (the red white and yellow cables that come with DVD players) use these to connect the first point directly from the decoder to the TV using a free AV input behind the TV. form then on proceed to connect the cable going to the room directly to the RF OUT port behind the decoder (make sure the copper and aluminium wires dont end up touching, but use both, the copper on the inside and the alu on the steel outer casing) if this doesnt work check your connections and if all fails replace the cable as a last resort

LG RH399H

I have the same problem with the same model LG, bought a year ago. It only gives the 'Record-blocking signals detected' message when there's something I really want to record. Over the winter it was Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. Today it is the British Open Golf from Turnberry. We are out tomorrow, for the last day of play and can't record!!!!! It seems this player has build in blocking signals even to channels we can normally watch. Any help would be appreciated - before tomorrow, July 19th.

How to record digital tv thru reocrder

You need to go into the menu and set the "av-2 out put" to DTV, that should solve the problem, remembering to connect the "in" scart on the recorder to AV-2 on the tv.If there is only 1 scart on the recorder it will be a 2 way connection, sending and recieving a signal.

LG RH266 setup with freeview tv

Sorry to say no it wont not unless the Tv set manuel says it has a Duel Freeview feed , you have to get another freeview box for the recorder .
besides If you used the freview in the tv 1 , the tv would have to be on when you wanted to record ?. and 2 you couldnt watch another channel whilst recording another .. only 1 tuner ?. also you could only record the program you had on .at the time no timer facility .
People are still used to the Old system of VHs and the fact that all videos had tuners built in so you could watch and record .. It will come and indeed some more modern DVD recorder have freeview built in again sorry but thats the facts , and dont forget if you want the pay per view channels on free view your going to need a tuner with a pay card port ... Connecting TV to DVD / VCR Recorder

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

I am assuming that what you intend to do is:
  • record a TV channel/program/show either on VCR or DVD;
  • while at the same time watching another TV channel/program/show directly on the TV.
Yes, but only if you are not using/needing a cable decoder box. To do this, the coaxial cable from your provider would have to be made to supply both the RF/ANT/CABLE IN of the VCR/DVD and the TV. To accomplish this, you would need a 2-way splitter. One input to the splitter, 2 outputs, one each for the DVD/VCR and the TV. The DVD/VCR would have to be connected to the TV using yellow, white & red RCA cables. To watch DVD, VCR and/or what is being recorded on the DVD/VCR, set the TV to Video mode. To watch regular TV, select the channels on the TV.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Pls be informed that due to my current rank and rating, even a Helpful wouldbe detrimental to my status. Should this solution not address yourconcern, it would be appreciated if you could just not rate it at all. Cheers.

Lost digital signal on analog TV

You do not need to use an RF modulator if you have a LG DR787T. It will output the program on channel 3 or channel 4. If you have another recording machine, I think you may need to re-scan for the stations.
It is also possible that you need to use the remote to switch from the analog (66 only?) stations to the digital stations.
If using a 787, press HOME, select TV & press ENTER, the channel list menu appears. With the highlight on the top of the list, use the < and > arrow keys to select from: TV, DTV, Favorite, or ALL. This lets your pick whether you want to see digital, analog, favorites with the "HEAR" symbol, or all stations.

THIBSRUS:
I think that there is a selection on the Panny that works much like the TV/VCR selection on a videotape recorder. Your machine is receiving and decoding digital stations, as you stated you can see them on the menu screen, but is not passing them through to your TV set for viewing. To use the Panny as a tuner for live TV shows, or actually, programs currently airing, you have to tune the TV to channel 3 or 4, or, if using the Red/White/Yellow connectors, the proper video input selection, AND turn the Panasonic on, and have it sending the programs it is receiving out on the antenna connection or the video/audio out (RWYellow) connections. It is really a matter of selecting, on the Panasonic, whether it passes through the antenna signals, or the digital signals that is is receiving.
