Normally, for Panasonic brand you have to use Panasonic original batteries for better backup. You have to buy newly branded batteries such as Panasonic, Kodak or Energizer in very reasonable rates. I suggest you check this link. http://www.batterywarehouse.co.uk

Battery dies quickly when not plugged into a power source. Purchased new battery with same result.

Please check if your battery is coded or not, If it is a coded battery, the inside of battery needs power to keep it. The "coded battery" is apply to some camera brand, such as Panasonic.

You should charge the battery very month to keep its life.

NiMH batteries do not have memory effect. However, unlike NiCads, new batteries...

I'm not certain which camera models this applies to, but definitely quite a few:
Many of the camera makers to not emphasize that after your rechargeables become low, you still have to use the "discharge" function while in your camera, to drain them adequately, prior to recharging. Otherwise, the "memory" in the battery on how much charge it can take gets lower and lower. If that has happened, try the "discharge" function, which will restore full charge capability

If your panasonic camera uses a panasonic battery and you try to use a different brand equivalent battery, some panasonics will not work. Could that be your problem?

Battery temperature high...what do I do?

Apparently, the manual says the battery may get hot during use. If the "battery temperature high" warning comes on, you're supposed to turn it off for 5 minutes.

Received a Kodak Z1285 for my birthday in February of 2009. Approximately a month ago the camera would not "turn on". I tried several different batteries including purchasing new batteries but nothing...

When you call support, they will be able to direct you on the best way to proceed. They have ways to look up the serial number and purchase date I believe... If you haven't called them, give it a shot. :)

Have you made sure the battery is still good? Even if the battery looks like it's charged (via the charging cradle) it may not be holding the charge.
So first, test the battery. How? Easiest way is to go to a camera store.
Before that, try removing the battery from the camera. Then reinsert it. This will reboot the camera, just in case that is the problem.
Finally, assuming the camera has not been dropped and that it is a mechanical or damage problem, download the latest firmware update.

Poblem with my panasonic lumix dmc-fx7

It may that your battery has lost its charge, or has leaked? If it won't hold a charge try taking it out wiping it and trying again if that doesn't work you may need a new battery.

Panasonic lumix -fx01 digicam isnt responding

After posting on here I took my FX01 to a repair centre and was informed the motherboard had died. They couldn't give a specific reason for this, saying it could be anything relating to humidity, extreme temperatures, static, even just a slight knock, etc. Cost of repair was higher than purchase of a new camera so I grudgingly went for that option. I hope you guys have better luck!
