A Hurl-bat is an entirely metal throwing axe sharpened on every auxiliary end to a point, practically guaranteeing some form of damage against its target.

Does easton -3 bbcore bat wear out over time?

The short answer is slightly, yes. BBCOR bats are basically metal bats that have similar pop as a wood bat. They do decrease in ball-off-bat speed over time, but it isn't too noticeable.

Why did the guy at the store tell me not to use my new bat at the batting cages?

It's not a good idea to use a new, quality baseball bat at a batting cage because the balls that come out of the machine are much denser than regular baseballs. This could end up doing irreversible damage to your baseball bat.
