Please include model number when posting, it is very helpful. Just a general answer though would be to use the buttons on the tv itself. Or you could pick up a universal remote and program it to work with your tv.
Something missing here. There is no channel 1 on a TV set. None of the universal remote instructions I have or have seen specify that as a first step. From your post, I believe you want to use some kind of universal remote to control an RCA flat panel TV, Can you tell me the brand of universal remote you are trying to use? The answer to the last line of your post is you don't need the original remote to "reprogram". That's what universal remotes do
These are the universal setup codes for Panasonic TVs. You can select any brand universal remote control, which bears any one of these codes in its code list for Pansonic brand. Brand name of the remote isn't a matter. Check its code list, whether there is a code for Panasonic. That is all. Setup codes for Panasonic are: 0171 0148 0054 0170 0062 0374 0381 0437 0950 0003 0070
Hello If there isn't a button marked 'Menu' at the front panel of your TV, you can;t pull out Menu option without its remote control. No TV, which haven't Menu Button on its front panel, can't be controlled for all of its functions without its remote control OK.
I think you can use the channel up arrow and it will go into an auto-scan mode. At least that's what I was able to do when I was having my problems with the cable/sat now working. I had to find a way to get it into Cable mode vs TV mode. I think if your tv is in TV mode, this might work. worth a try at least.
unfortunately this tv set doesn't have one, how do i know? well i'm a tv engineer and was recently given the exact same set,and me being me decided to take a peek inside (the remote control didn't come with the set) so like all i looked to see if their was any hidden buttons, and sadly there isn't even any holes for them, so if like me you have a set without the remote control you out of luck ,
