Most dryers are supported by a bearing at the rear and teflon pads at the front. Sounds like one of the pads is worn out leaving the drum to ride on the metal frame. The bearing can also make that sound if it breaking down. Most dryers have enough play that you can lift the drum and turn it. If the noise stops then the pads are bad. You can usually find them at most dryer wholesale or online appliance part stores.
Sounds like problem with door switch not making contact. To test: open dryer door and locate small slot in cabinet ( located a few inches below bottom of plastic control panel). Poke a small screwdriver into this slot- you should hear a small click- this is the door switch. Whilst holding switch in with screwdriver, press the start button and you should find dryer will start. Now check on the dryer door- there should be a plastic shaft that goes into this slot when door is closed- sometimes this breaks off. If shaft is not broken, problem lies with the switch inside cabinet- not easy to access for DIYer, as drum needs to be removed.
F+P have a lot of problems with the door switches not making contact, but is generally a relatively inexpensive repair if you call for service.
I had this same problem with my Dryer. It is making the few quick beeps because it thinks the door is still open. Near the bottom of the opening to the dryer there is a sensor switch that gets pushed in when you shut the door. Try holding the switch in with a knife or something and then start the dryer with the door open to check if that is the problem. After i did this, i closed the door and my dryer started as normal.
