No matter which cycle I select, why does it go to cool down and continues to beep non-stop?

Clean the vent screen and the vent pipe, apparently the dryer cannot cool down properly because the vent is plugged.

Fisher paykel dryer ed56

Could be the door switch or temp sensor. To check the door switch put pressure against the door and see if it stops. Check the slot the door hits to see if there is anything loose in there.

ED 56 Dryer Scrapping sound like metal on metal when the drum spins

Most dryers are supported by a bearing at the rear and teflon pads at the front. Sounds like one of the pads is worn out leaving the drum to ride on the metal frame. The bearing can also make that sound if it breaking down. Most dryers have enough play that you can lift the drum and turn it. If the noise stops then the pads are bad. You can usually find them at most dryer wholesale or online appliance part stores.

The power comes on but when the start pressed it beeps and machine does not start. Fisher & Paykel Dryer ED 56

Sounds like problem with door switch not making contact. To test: open dryer door and locate small slot in cabinet ( located a few inches below bottom of plastic control panel). Poke a small screwdriver into this slot- you should hear a small click- this is the door switch. Whilst holding switch in with screwdriver, press the start button and you should find dryer will start. Now check on the dryer door- there should be a plastic shaft that goes into this slot when door is closed- sometimes this breaks off. If shaft is not broken, problem lies with the switch inside cabinet- not easy to access for DIYer, as drum needs to be removed.  F+P have a lot of problems with the door switches not making contact, but is generally a relatively inexpensive repair if you call for service. Good luck!!

Can the beeping alarm be turned off?

usually if you turn the power off and on after a short delay the beep should go away. But the alarm fault code will keep showing on the display / drawer panel light until fault is fixed.

Hope this helps.

My fisher and paykel dryer ( mod# ED56 ) wont start, power is on

I had this same problem with my Dryer. It is making the few quick beeps because it thinks the door is still open. Near the bottom of the opening to the dryer there is a sensor switch that gets pushed in when you shut the door. Try holding the switch in with a knife or something and then start the dryer with the door open to check if that is the problem.
After i did this, i closed the door and my dryer started as normal.

Dryer tries to start - then stops and beeps PLEASE HELP

Check the exhaust hose. If the dryer isn't venting properly it will either stop or the heater will turn off and the clothes will remain wet. If the hose is not clogged check the wall vent tube.

Hi Dale..
It sounds like you have a leaky inlet valve assembly. The part number is 421029P and is easy to replace. You can get one here:
