I also had this problem with the sound suddenly going out. After spending hours determining that it was not caused by my cable box, and unlocking volume codes and such, I took someone else's advice and hooked up a cheap surround sound speaker system through the audio ports on the back. Now I have sound for my tv, and it even sounds better than when the tv sound was working.

First thing, check batteries in remote, next make sure there are no obstructions between your remote and your tv. i would then call olevia tech support and describe your problem. sounds like the remote sensor has failed. usually covered under warranty. check with olevia to see if they have a factory wide problem or issue with remotes. persistance pays off in this case so just keep on top of tech support. hope this helps, john.

Unfortunately what you need to do is call sharp. That is the ONLY way your resolution will get resolved. You have a service issue on your hands and they will most likely have to change a board in your unit. They may be able to walk you through a reset called a factory initialization that MIGHT help. But 6 out of 10 people with this issue had to get service, sorry. However your manufactures warranty is good for 1 year on parts and labor so let them refer you to a service center, and they will take care of it. Good luck to you

The problem was caused by a loose conexion. One of the cables that goes from the DirecTV box to the TV was loose. The problem was FIXED by pushing the cables to make sure there was a good conexion.

You can always turn your TV off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, wait for 30 seconds or so, plug it back in, then turn it back on. If you have kids check the menu options to see if they may have tampered with it unintentionally. If all else fails, call Vizio and ask for their professional help. If you are not satisfied with their help and assistance, make a complaint by going to BBB.org (Better Business Bureau). Maybe if you tell Vizio that you're going to call the BBB then they might take you a little more seriously.
