I have a sony (model KP61V75) a split screen came on (two pictures) and I cannot figure out how to get it back to one screen. Im going crazy!

Some television remote controls have a PIP OFF button, while others only have a PIP button that needs to be pressed repeatedly until the PIP/Twin-View window disappears.

NOTES:

  • Some Sony rear projection televisions have a FLASH FOCUS button that will turn off the PIP/Twin-View feature.

  • Some Sony universal remote controls, if programmed to operate a Sony TV, can disable the PIP/Twin-View feature by pressing the REC or ENT button.

  • If the original TV remote control is not available or is not functioning properly, auto programming the television tuner orperforming a power reset may deactivate the PIP/Twin-View feature.

  • If pressing the appropriate buttons on the TV remote control does not work, then the PIP/Twin-View window might be from a two-tuner cable or satellite set-top box. If this is the case, use the remote control provided with the set-top box to remove the PIP/Twin-View window.

My picture in my television is like shadow box size but not a normal shadow box program. When the t.v. is bumped the picture goes to normal then back to small , What is obviously loose?

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....
•Screen looks 3D
•Colors don't line up
•One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
•Screen is bowed or warped.
•TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here are some photos of convergence problems

My JVC television doesn't turn on. When you power it up, 5 seconds go by, then the "timer" light flashes on and no picture.

The main power supply has either failed or is shutting down due to a downstream failure, the most likely place for the latter is the horizontal sweep circuit that produces the high voltage and the sweep that moves the trace across the screen. The most common failure in that circuit is often a failed 'flyback' transformer and/or the very fast, powerful, sweep transistor itself. Checking the transistor isn't technically difficult (they normally short between two of the three elements) but measuring the flyback requires some knowledge of what to expect and an inductance meter as a minimum.
If you can locate an old, still breathing, TV repair tech, I would even advise having it repaired since (check for yourself under "LCD," "plasma" or "rear projection") the modern sets will not last as long as your JVC did. If you get it repaired, put it in a dry place (with the digital converter if you have one) and keep it as a spare so you won't have to do without TV when the new 14-15 month-old set goes belly up.

T.v goes on no screen just blinking stand by light red

The STANDBY light is flashing on the television and there is no picture or sound. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

Television

Hi,

From what I can understand, your problem is:
1. either a single horizontal line (from left to right), very bright, no picture but with sound, if yes then it is a failure of the vertical section. More often, it is the vertical IC that is at fault, sometimes the vertical capacitor. Still, in other cases, it is a case of cold solder; or
2. multiple lines across the screen with the picture overly bright and with sound. If yes to this one, then it is a matter of excessive screen voltage. This is adjustable using the HV Screen control that is at the rear of the Flyback Transformer.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Flashing picture screen on Sony KP_53HS10

tap around on the circuit boards in the rear of the television. narrowed it down to the Comb Filter circuit board. It is the smallest upright circuit board behind where you plug in all your connectors. pulled it out cleaned it off, reinserted it

Jvc television

picture on tv started waving in & out

normally this problem is due to main filter capacitor failure in tv which is located in power supply.it becomes dry after few years

you can also check for normal voltage at input to your home.

hope this will help

good luck.

Blinking red light

If your Sony TV is hooked up to a good signal and is set up correctly, but only clicks and has no picture or sound, and even the menu will not show up on the screen, then it means that the main power supply has stopped working. I usually find that a small crack in the solder joint of the horizontal drive transformer or a shorted flyback will cause the large horizontal output transistor to short out, and this shorts out the switching transistors in the main power supply which then causes the Sony 0.1 ohm fuse resistor to open up. I have also seen power surges or power failures (brown-outs) cause the switching transistors to short out. In any case, the set absolutely should be serviced by someone experienced in repairing Sony TV's.

No pic or sound but gets power

The power supply may have failed. Also, it is possible that there is a failure in the HV section.

You will have to take the set in for an estimate. This is something that I doubt you can fix yourself at home. The set will require troubleshooting by an experienced tech.
