Yes, that is quite a lot for FF. Using IE7 is only using 131K on my system.

I didn't ask before but how much RAM do you have?

First thing I would do is a thorough full system scan with a good antivirus program.

Hit control alt delete to open task manager and see how many programs you have running. mabey your cpu is always running hot because its always maxed out. check for any processes taking up an excessive amount of cpu% at idle.

Hi there,

Try opening the chassis and clean the inside of the pc. You can use a blower to remove dusts inside the pc. Usually this is the culprit. Excessive dust will make your cooling system ineffective so the fan will run very fast to cool it down. If your pc is clean, check if there are wires touching the blades of the fan. Also check if there are broken blades in the fan. If everything is fine and still fan is noisy, you have to replace it.

My sony vaio pc fan is loud as hell

Perhaps it's clogged with dust and hair, try using a can of compressed air to clean it out, careful not to get any on your hands though.

Iam using HP Desktop D530 when i open some programmes but processor fan runs so fast and loud 2 gb ram in my pc and hard disk is 20 gb how can i reduce noice of fan ?

To reduce the fan noise, open the PC Case and clean the fan. Also, proper ventilation keeps the system cool and the fan runs at lower speed.

Hope this helps!

Why does my fan seem to be cycling at all times which is slowing down the computer big time

your fan has nothing to do with your computer slowing down.
your fan goes on when a threshold is reach in the cpu temperature or another component's temperature being cooled. the question is what's is causing your cpu or your chipset to work harder than usual causing your system to seem to be sluggish??

the simple answer is malware and need for a clean up and tune up

I suggest you do the following:

1. get an air can, open the case and without touching anything and watching for ESD, dust off your system free.

2. close the case and turn your computer on

3. update your antivirus and run deep scans

4. get all critical updates for your system from windows update

5. download, spybot search and destroy, malwarebytes, superantispyware, and a square free edition, update them and run deep scans.

6. defrag your hard drive

7. to improve perforamance make sure you update or upgrade memory

good luck!

Fan races slows down races again

the fan is supposed to speed up when the processor gets too hot, then slow down after it has cooled a bit. if it is running more than normal, maybe you should take the cover off the pc and clean the dust out of the cpu heatsink.

Overheats, shuts off, and operates extremeley slowly.

The overheating problem can be caused by a faulty fan (spinning slow) or the fan and heat-sink assembly is clogged with dust. Check the vents and fan/heatsink assembly and remove the dust. Check if the fan spins freely, replace if faulty.
To provide further cooling, there are fan assisted cooling pads that are placed under the laptop that provide additional fan assisted air cooling to inlet vents on the bottom of laptops.

Why does my PC fan run continuesly?

Usually, there are two fans on a desktop PC. Some computer have three.

One cools down the power supply and it may be quite noisy after a while because the dust in the fan. The second one is to cool down the processor and usually it doesn't stops, it only changes its speed according the heat.

If there is a third one, it will stop when the temperature is cool enough for the system.

Only on notebooks the processor fan stops completely after a while to save some energy.

My computer is overheating and how do u clean the fan

need to blow all the dust out of the vents on the side and bottom of laptop and check out the fan while the laptop is running. If the fan seems to be running slow, the bearings may be damaged and you may need to get another fan.
