If it is the backlight for your Janome MC 8000 that is growing dark, and becoming difficult to see or read which stitch you are on.

When your Memory Craft 8000 or MC 5700 is otherwise working fine but the LCD display screen begins to grow darker and you find you just can't read it, the only thing you can do is replace the LCD screen, or buy a new machine. Janome no longer stock this item direct, but there is an affordable replacement available. Full Access and Installation instructions are provided, so you can DIY or have someone else do the replacement for you. It's just backlight issue. I just fixed my wife's MC8000 today, very good result, she is very happy now. Very easy and cheap. buy a EL sheet with or without connector wherever you can. dissamble the machine, cut to the size you need, replace it. You can even choose the back light color. after cut the sheet, you may or may not need tape around or laminate another layer for protecting. I bought smallest EL sheet 5"x6", which even enough for 3 machines. Good luck.
We have about 30 electroluminescent backlights for the 8000 still available .These are not original Janome parts. You will need a Janome service person to install then for you as it requires taking apart alot of the machine to get to the display. We can provide instructions if this person is unsure how to fit.
